You probably need to have the setting where it streams the rom from disk rather then loading the entire rom into ram.

If someone wanted to make a MvsL hack, are they limited to just 5 levels?

Yes.

Unless, of course, almighty ASM hax.

I could not…

Is there any way to edit the levels, backgrounds and tilesets in the Nsmb Demo Version? I've opened it up in NSMBe5 and the "Level Listings" tab doesn't show up, nor does tilesets or backgrounds...

via a ASM hack you can play with 5 unused levels and then add them to the world map?

With an ASM hack yes. Otherwise no, because these levels are not in the level tables.

Hi,

I was just playing around with your software, and I ran into a small (well, not that small) of a problem.

How to end a level? I've tried putting entrances there (not sure yet how those work exactly), i've built a mini-castle, I've built a goal pole... Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

You need to add the sprite "End of Level Flag" on the top of the pole (under the dot).

Also, make sure that the correct "Sprite Set" is enabled for the end of level flag (it's 16-1 btw).

If you need any more help, just ask!

Have A Nice Day!

I have that, but I think I've figured out what I did wrong. I'm gonna try it now, hold on... Yes! It worked! Turns out I didn't build the end-of-level castle right, and that the exit was actually inside it. Thanks anyway!

To add a tileset, download a tileset in the resource forum, go in the "Tilesets" tab, select the tileset you want to replace, click on "Import" and select the tileset you downloaded. To add a background, do the same thing but select the "Backgrounds" tab instead of the "Tilesets" tab.

Not really. You just need to place any object that will make mario stop after sliding down the pole. The flag object of the castle is not needed either IIRC.

Yep. It is a cool addition, but not a requirement.

Double click on the slot on which you imported the background and you will see the background you imported.

That's.. not very descriptive. You could have uploaded/linked it for us to see what it's all about.

Seriously, please do some effort if you want people to help. I'm pretty sure they all don't have time to spoonfeed you.

Also on your screenshot, both the empty tiles and tiles with animations seems messed up.

Now if it was possible to make the editor avoid using tiles with animations (depending on the slot) that would be neat.
