Actually, do we have layers in the Editor? I think there are layers in some stages, but can I add them myself just like Reggie?
P.S. Where can I get the NSMBW ISO files for Reggie? _________________________ My username is made by a random word generator. Be sure to check out my hack! I will do my best on Remake Super Mario Random! |

No, NSMB's levels only support one layer.
EDIT: Posted by NSMB3 P.S. Where can I get the NSMBW ISO files for Reggie? I could not… |

Posted by Asprok snip I'm sorry, but the only link here (the one in Dirbaio's music thread) to Orengefox's SDAT no longer works. Is there any other way of getting it?

skawo made the last post on that thread with a backup of the organised SDAT folder. Alternatively, you can open the original SDAT file with NDS Editor, export all its files into folders and manually organise them numerically according to their order in NDS Editor.
Also, please, quote properly by actually showing the content you quoted. People wouldn't want to be clicking the link to see what you're referring to. I could not… |

Hello. I am having a little problem at the background. I made a tileset at the slot 67 (unused bonus room), and applied it at W2-2. When it starts, the background doesn't sees to make the "fake 3D" effect. How can I fix this error?

You'll need to specify exactly what you mean by "fake 3D effect".

(like: set from underwater to underground) And how do i add custom backgrounds? And how do i create custom tilesets? And how do i change the background? (like: change from overworld to jungle) The music can be changed per-view, just click on the view, there should be a drop-down menu with all the musics For 90% of your questions, go into the level editor and click the paint table thingy icon on the top-left Be warned tho: changing the tileset doesn't mean your level automatically looks different, you'll have to re-build the entire level (or at least most of it) or else it looks glitchy For the custom backgrounds, tilesets, title screen etc. you can look into the NSMB Hacking Tutorials subforum. Also you could, y'know, try to figure out things by yourself before asking...?

Well, apparently you didn't try hard enough, anyone who would've tried to make a custom level would've figured this out.
And if you REALLY can't figure out things by yourself then at least do some extensive research. Here you can find answers to most of your questions: http://nsmbhd.net/thread/2974-nsmbdex-of-useful-things-for-hacking-index/ For custom titlescreens, i recommend using this: http://nsmbhd.net/thread/3468-title-logo-with-256-colors-asm/

How do I make a tile act like a snakeblock? Do I have to do ASM hacking to make it possible?

You don't, you just place the sprite 299 (Snake Block), which only allows a length of three or more tiles. Do not change the original tile in the Jyotyu tileset, though; it is used as either the first and last blocks of the sprite or the middle ones. Changing its properties isn't recommended. By the way, be careful when using a ! switch, it makes the snake blocks behave as coins till the timer runs out.
