I'm very impressed of your level design. It looks very smooth and there aren't any places where you can criticize much.

I only noticed a few things:

  • That unused jungle FG effect doesn't fit to the NSMB2 forest tileset very well
  • In NSMB2 the foliage of the green trees is solid. In your case it's only solid on top, which could irritate a few people
  • The music at the beginning isn't fitting a mountains themed level very well
  • One block jumps

Otherwise this is absolutely awesome. Keep it up!

They do, but IMO having a newer firmware is better than having an ancient one. Also there will be new games wich require a higher firmware. So it's a good idea to be on the highest easy exploitable firmware.

The fly powerup is inside this file (also custom Tile behaviors and the Tile animations): https://github.com/Dirbaio/NSMBCR/blob/master/source/animations.cpp
Should be the same one  ray got from  Dirbaio.

I asked  Dirbaio a few month ago on IRC and he said that all the stuff in the NSMBCR Repo are free to use now as long as you give credit.

The only castles where the lava animation does not work is the World 8 castles, then again, they do use different tilesets from the other castles. Although, I think when I was still starting with NSMB hacking, I placed a lava tile in the World 1 Tower and if I remember correctly, it did have animations, but my memory could just be playing tricks on me.


I can remember using it in 1-Castle working just fine.
In 1-Tower I simply didn't get any animations, just still lava, IIRC.

Well, it's not a graphics format and only controlls where the hud elements are. But you can easily edit it with the documentation  KingYoshi linked.

Well, if  Freeze has no time for the path animation thing, I could do that.

The file sizes were only that big, because I set all types to x/y/z transformations. I was too lazy to implement all different types

As you can see, area selction/adding/removing is now a thing.
I also added suport for copy, cut and paste, as well as changing the layer of already existing tiles and changing the z-order of objects.

The combination of the recolored WiiU cave tileset and the waterfall cave background looks very nice.

It creates a very chilling atmosphere

xdelta only works with the original file it was intended for. So no multiple xdelta patches.
