I can see that you've spent much time at making that first post xD. What I really like is that it kinda looks like those games advertisement leaflets, with those screenshots and encouraging descriptions which show what to expect in this hack and make you wanting to play this game.

When I convert a MIDI to SSEQ, note slide effects like volume slides, pitch slides etc. seem to get lost in-game.
I think this is caused by one of the programs I use to convert MIDIs: Anvil Studio or midi2sseq. I’ll show what I mean with those note slide effects using some examples. Example 1: The high sound at the ‘NSMB Ghost House’ music contains pitch slides. If I convert the SSEQ to MIDI, and then convert the MIDI back to SSEQ using Anvil Studio and midi2sseq, the pitch slides disappear. With slides: http://youtu.be/h7TsvISirkE Without slides: ghosthouse_without_slide.mp3 Example 2: The World 8 music also contains a pitch slide, used by the lava-ish instrument. If I convert the SSEQ to MIDI, and then convert the MIDI back to SSEQ using Anvil Studio and midi2sseq, the pitch slide disappears. With slides: http://youtu.be/cRE6se-MEew?t=8s Without slides: W8_without_slide.mp3 This is the way I convert MIDIs to SSEQ: _Opening the MIDI in Anvil Studio _Choose option 'Export MIDI-Format 0 file…' * _Converting the MIDI to SSEQ using midi2sseq _Replace 'BGM_X.sseq' with the SSEQ I just made in the sound_data map _Make a SDAT file with NDS Editor (kiwi.ds) *This could be the cause of the problem, but if choose the regular 'Export' option, midi2sseq.exe will crash if I try to convert the MIDI. I hope there's someone who knows a solution for this. |

If so, for how much you would like? Oh, I didn't know NSMBHD had an 'Unfinished Hack Shop'. Posted by KingYoshi I changed the HP damage of Mummy Pokey so that you have to ground pound/stomp 5 times. But unfortunately if you groundpound on him 1 time and then stomp 1 time (or in opposing order), he'll be defeated too. |

A long, long time ago, members' nicknames used to become gold at the board when it was their birthday. I don't know why this actually has been removed, but I'd really like it to come back.

I finally have the access to two DSs, so I wanted to try this ASM Hack. But unfortunately I don't really get it to work.
![]() I've set the ASM Hack in NSMB, and put it on my two flashcards. I replaced the Ice stage with an area of a Ghost House level (without the Star Coins). But when I tested it, I still got the original Ice stage. There weren't Battle Stars btw, so the ASM Hack does (sort of) work. After that I replaced the Ice stage with the same Ghost House area, but then in 'FS\root\archive\Dat_Ice.narc' instead of in the Level list. When I tested it, I got this screen on both DSs. What did I do wrong? |

Cool Castle background. How did you rip it actually? @Hiccup Yeah.. I could do that, but I'm not sure. There's a chance that when I upload them, everyone (who's good with image editing) will start making NSMBU Tilesets for their own and don't post them here. Then this thread won't be used anymore, and people who aren't good with image editing won't get new free NSMBU Tilesets anymore. ![]() (Not sure this will happen, but it could.) |

I played this hack a few days ago with a friend, and it's really nice to finally have (a sort of) Co-op play hack.
![]() The only thing we disliked a bit was that you haven't made much use of the 'sprite limitation ASM hack'. All levels (except the Castle level) contain almost only Goombas. You should use more different enemies. Also, it wasn't possible to really 'end' or 'win' this game. After the Bowser Jr fight, you return to the Level choosing screen and neither Mario or Luigi has won a round. |

I don't think it was necessary to rip those. In the Japanese version of NSMBDS, all English texts (like Mario Clear and Luigi Clear) are CAPITAL LETTERS (MARIO CLEAR and LUIGI CLEAR). Posted by Thierry The 'yahoo' voice for Mario can be found in SM64DS, it should have a higher quality than the one you are using. I'm not sure about that. I've listened to the voice samples of NSMBDS and SM64DS sometime, and it's clearly noticable that those of SM64DS have a lower quality than those of NSMBDS. |
