Many NSBCAs contain more than one animation, which can be viewed using MKDSce. How to swap animations around in those files? I don't think it would be that hard, would it?

An autumn tree tower?

What an awesome and original idea.

No, this is not one of those NSMB Hacking vs. NSMB2 Hacking discussion threads. This is just about the graphics.

So, we can't deny that NSMB2 has higher quality graphics than NSMBDS. That's logical, because NSMB2 is newer and its handheld is has more pixels and all.

Despiting this, I think I prefer NSMBDS's graphics. Why? Because it looks more.. realistic. Let's just compare NSMBDS's and NSMB2's World 1 Maps. (If the images look small on the device, just click them to see them bigger.)

Do you see what I mean? NSMB2's Worldmap is more colourful and it has, I don't know, something that makes it look more like a little kid's game. E.g. NSMBDS's tower model is way more realistic than NSMB2's one. And you can also see that just making the cannon blue in NSMB2 also gives the game a certain atmosphere.

Also compare how Nintendo 'modernised' e.g. the Scuttlebugs.

They now look less scary, don't they?

Well, this is basically why I prefer the graphics of NSMBDS. I'm sure NSMB2 would have looked waaaayy different than it looks now if they had been wanting to make it look realistic rather than childish.

EDIT:
Though I wouldn't say I find NSMBWii's graphics were bad, which is funny, since NSMB2 is almost an exact copy of NSMBWii when talking about graphics (and musics). But then you should compare e.g. the World 1 Maps of NSMBDS, NSMB2 and NSMBWii. It looks like they made something that is between DS and 2. It looks moderner but still realistic.

This topic comes up all the time, so I would surmise that NSMB Hacking isn't "slowing down"- it's slow period.

Don't make jokes about period. It's a serious females' problem!!1!!1!!

Unfortunately, there wasn't that much interest when this was posted on YouTube, but hopefully it'll be different when people see it here instead.

I hope that if there's enough interest, RicBent (or someone else) would be willing to continue and finish this project for NSMBe as well.

Does anyone here know videos, playlists or YT channels with, like, more serious, not too crazy fanmade levels in Super Mario Maker? Levels that follow Nintendo's design and could actually exist in a Mario game? I'd like to watch more of those kind of videos but they seem hard to find.

Nahh COPPA is shit. It's only made because of parents that don't know how to look after their little kids. They keep them busy by giving them a phone at a very young age and then complain there's child unfriendly stuff on YouTube.

O, and by the way, this "YouTube Kids" app was launched months ago. Why isn't that enough? Stupid new law...

Anyway, I'm gonna miss the comment section most.

I know it's the levels that are most important in a hack, but I just had to point out how wonderful this grass texture (from NSMBU, I assume) looks in NSMB2!

It's kinda subjective whether the inactivity of this board is a problem.

I also wish it was more active, but I don't have much to contribute to create more activity. I like to chat but am not really working on a hack. I'm mostly nostalgic for this board and this game.

-> Polygon ID fix (ASM)

What's that exactly? There's a problem with polygons in MKDS?
