I know there's already a thread for this, but that thread is from two years ago and the Un- '+1' button still isn't implemented yet. I'd really like such a button. Now it's just too easy to '+1' a post by accident.

That other thread's first post has 12 '+1s', so I'm pretty sure many people want this undo option.

Could it be a good idea if you can see where you come when you get fired to the pipe cannon?
Something of dotted lines, or something.
Just as you have a sign by the moving platforms.
Then you can keep in mind, if you want Mario/Luigi get to a specific place.
Perhaps there are two signs/symbols. One for normal Mario, and one for Mini Mario.

(Sorry if this is unclear English, but this message is hard to translate )

I´ve been wanting to know the location of the Mario vs Luigi stage icons for a long time, so I decided to look for them in the Rom File Browser. Anyway, I found them and also some other graphics which may be handy to know in which files those are stored. So I decided to share my findings in this thread. (I hope these findings weren't known already, but I haven't seen another thread with them.)

Stage icons + Settings' texts

[Graphics file:] FS/root/ARCHIVE/menu_title.narc/root/menu/title/USA/UI_O_2P_game_setting_o_d_ncg.bin
[Palette file:] FS/root/ARCHIVE/menu_title.narc/root/menu/title/d_2d_UI_O_2P_game_setting_o_d_ncl.bin

Grass: Palette 3+4 (palette 4 is used when selected a stage in MvsL)
Underground: Palette 5+6 (palette 6 is used when selected a stage in MvsL)
Ice: Palette 7+8 (palette 8 is used when selected a stage in MvsL)
Pipe: Palette 9+10 (palette 10 is used when selected a stage in MvsL)
Castle: Palette 11 + 12 (palette 12 is used when selected a stage in MvsL)

This file also contains:
_Text of settings (Wins, Big Star, Mario's lives, Course) [Image 1]
_Text of options (Numbers + Endless + Choose Each Time + Random) [Image 1]
_'OK' text [Image 1]
_Arrows [Image 1]
_'Round' text [Image 2]

This file doesn't contain:
_the green and grey swim lanes [Image 1]
_the blue boxes (where the settings’ values are shown in) [Image 1]
_the red 'Round' swim lane [Image 2]
_the red/yellow + blue level frames [Image 2]
_the wall background [Image 1+2]

NOTES:
_Click on 'View in 4bpp format'.
_All bitmaps are the best visible when Tile width=4.

I think a guide for beginners of NSMB Hacking would be very useful.
Maybe a textdocument, included in the NSMB Build Zip-file.

For example:

- A spriteslist NSMBDS Sprite File list

- Some tutorials? Like:
tutorial NSBMD Creation Tutorials & Hacking
tutorial Best practices when making NSMB levels
tutorial How to edit the title screen logo

- Simple stuff like:
How can I change the music in a level?
How does the Tileset Editor works?
What are Zones and Views?
How can I change the colors in a 3D/2D-model?
How do entrances work?
How to make a patch?

What do you think about this idea...?

I did some tests with the Camera Settings.

Every Worldmap uses two bytes for the "X-axes rotation value": RR RR. This value is in the original game always the same: RR RR = D0 FD.

Other tests I did:
_Changing the byte D0 to D2, D1, CF, CE, CD, CC and CB, but nothing notable changed.
_Replacing FD with ED, DD, CD, BD, AD, etc. Nothing notable changed. It seems like the first nybble doesn't have any influence on the X-axes rotation. For example: FD = ED, AC = 5C and 88 = B8.

Can there be two pictures for the Bowser Jr.-sprite?
That if there's chosen for a Bowser Jr.-battle where he's his mask,
you see a picture of him with mask.

And of course, if there's chosen for a Bowser Jr.-battle where's doesn't have a mask,
you see a picture of the normal Bowser Jr.

Of course you can see if he's wearing a mask in the sprite-options, but...
This would be useful, right?

I've made the tileset from NSMBU 'Urchin Shoals'.
I made a contribution by including a custom version of the tileset,
but then with blue-grey-greenish grass, which could be used for (for example) Mountain levels.

DOWNLOAD HERE (Uses 4 palettes)

Credit to  RoadrunnerWMC, for making the script which made it possible to rip this tileset.

When editing the jyotyu tileset, the pipes aren't visible at the 'Map16' and 'Tile Behaviour' tabs. It has been like this for a long time already, but the pipes used to be visible in NSMBe 5.1. Could they come back?

To the people who are new into this. Good luck.

STEP 1
Highlight the address by moving your mouse cursor over the address bar the pressing the left mouse button once or press the F6 keyboard shortcut to get into the address bar.

These are mouses.

STEP 2
After the address has been highlighted, press Ctrl + C or Cmd + C on the keyboard to copy it. You can also right-click any highlighted section and choose Copy from the dropdown menu.

Be aware when using the keyboard. The keys aren't sorted alphabetically!

STEP 3
Once the address is copied, paste that address into another program by clicking a blank field and pressing Ctrl + V or Cmd + V. You may also right-click any highlighted section and choose Paste from the dropdown menu.

I hope this helps. If it's still unclear to you, please go to the source of this tutorial, because there you can find the tutorial.. with screenshots!
