Is it just me or has Nsmb hacking "slowed down". I mean shure, we have Skawo and MeroMero (Might have all of these AMS hacks, but otherwise there's not that muck hacking being done. I mean a lot of people aren't online like Dibario, StapleButter(I think). Also so many people get banned (I understand why) so really there aren't that many people who are online any more. So yea that's all. Have a good day (feed back is appreciated)

also had a feeling of nsmb hacking dying out slowly. Maybe Endless Earth and Newer DS will be the last big hacks. And this might be it after that I think.

*cough*

Also it's almost wrong that NSMB hacking is dying. I see every day a post/thread related to NSMB hacking/hack.

Just like for NSMB Hacking-related threads: you should use the Search function first. There's already a thread about this topic.

This is NSMBHD in a nutshell.

Anyway, the board indeed is sort-of dieing, but that's not because of the lack of members. It's because of the lack of talented hackers (no offence). There are quite many active users here, but only like 10% of them makes an NSMB Hack; like 5% is able to make music hacks and I guess only 1% is able to do Model Hacking/ASM Hacking stuff.

Yeah. And the future is still looking OK. Apart from the 2 big hacks that are being released, there are other good looking hacks coming out by newer members of the community. Just look at mico, and Newer Special. Yeah, it might get a lot of inspiration from newer, but you can't deny it looks like a good hack. And it's only natural for some of the members to not be as active. Dirbaio probably hasn't got the time, and I think staplebutter just prefers general chat over hacking, which is why he is on kuribo so much.

The board is 5 years old, after all. You can't expect people to stay on for this long. New hackers will emerge soon enough. NSMB hacking isn't nearly as dead as SM64DS hacking, after all. As sherry said, there are still multiple posts every day about the topic.

This topic comes up all the time, so I would surmise that NSMB Hacking isn't "slowing down"- it's slow period.
New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth

Wha... What?!?
What are you people talking about? Everyone was blind? If Nsmb hacking is slowing down it's because certain Ndymarios don't finish your own hacks.
Just look the new hacks session. Your xdelta patch does not work. Just read your own "new hack" thread!

Edit: Hu, sorry the rant. Maybe I'm in that "Moon" day, but what it makes me sad is a lot of potential people starting hacks, stop hacks, forget to give a download link and don't give a shit with other members!

By the way, no one saw my recent mini-hack in that flocking session?!? Aaaaahhh!

derp.

I'd go on about how complaining about inactivity doesn't help make it more active, but I know the feel. Feeling you're left alone in the business doesn't help. Like being the last employee remaining in a company.

When I was working on blargSNES, it went the same way. There were other emulators and homebrews being developed, the scene was active, it helped drive my motivation. When it slowed down, so did I. Dunno if that's still the case, but at that point all that was being made was lazy emulator ports and CIA installers.

I'm still sorta-active for admin duty, but how long? Dunno. I have aspirations other than adminning a board that covers something I haven't worked for in ages.

I mean, what could I work on to advance the NSMBDS scene?

Custom sprites? Done-ish, except collision that is a pain and that I couldn't figure out to save my life.

Multiplayer coop? A pain to test.

Model editing/importing? There are illegal tools for doing it. Considering there are only 2 users or less into that, no point making legal tools.

Making a hack? ahahahahahahahahahaha. I can't even finish a level! I'm only good to be a programmer. And admin.

The NSMB2 hacks is my "the next step" objective (like a user, of course, because I don't know shit about programming).

I'm just waiting a stable friendly tool appear for I start my own levels.
