I don't want to make a new thread just for this and I couldn't find any others that asked this so:
Is there any alternative to using a capture card/emulator to record the DS's screen? I also don't want to use a USB cable, unless I have to and it's easy to set up. So, umm is there? Perhaps a homebrew? |

Nope. Options are capture card, emulation, or good ol' terrible quality offscreen camera.

Another way you can do it is buy the virtual console and get the TV to record. Some have built in systems. It's much higher quality audio and beats a ₽43.710,96 capture card, (which is literally more than my fucking yearly income) and gets higher quality audio than an emulator

Emulators can have good quality audio. Desmume, for example, has good audio. For less pixelated videos I recommend Desmume with the 3D upscaling feature on. Don't use Desmume's built-in recording feature tho, it's slow af.

I feel like there are like 10 people here who even know anything about hacking NSMB anymore. This place hasn't quite become a Kuribo64 but as new members come and old members leave the focus of this place is starting to be less and less about actually hacking the game. Not that this can't change in the future, for all I know the people that are considered noobs today could be the next Skawo or MF64.

Although it does seem like a lot of hacks are on hold and have been like that. It seems like creators are losing interest in their own projects, but who can blame them? It takes up weeks of free time for a hack to be released on a board with literally less than 50 people active. There usually isn't much hype for small side-projects like these and that makes the effort seem almost wasteful.
