Nah, it's just a matter of pasting the new jyotyu blocks over the old jyotyu blocks on the map I'm working on. The resolution of the map is 16128x8192 (nearly four times the size of 4k) and as you can guess there are a lot of jyotyu blocks placed in it already.

I guess if I set my mind to it I could make the change and replace the map tiles in a day or two.

It's probably not worth taking a whole day or so to fix everything. I probably wouldn't do it.

Yes. It's a more evolved form of the trick I used in New Super Mario Bros. 5: Clone Tag Team 2, but it will evolve around either defeating a key enemy or escaping from danger, unlike Clone Tag Team 2 (where you just defeated a room of enemies).

Kinda like the final Bowser battles in NSMBWii, NSMB2, 3D Land and 3D World.

A vertical cave with rising/lowering water. A big problem I ran into designing this area was the lack of enemies that are compatible with ground and water, so I tried to design the area to be interesting to pass through. It's like a mini maze, and there's a Power Star you can grab along the way.

Here we have another underwater area. Despite what it looks like in this screenshot, I tried to make this area a bit larger than past areas I've made, and I've solved the emptiness problem with small cave-like passages connecting clearing to clearing. I'll be posting some more images of this area in the future.

Well, I'm working on the tropical biome right now, which makes up most of the bottom-right corner of the whole map. Before that, I was working on the sky biome. Next up is the cave/haunted areas, then lava/desert, then mountains/snow.

Then I get to work on the forts.

As I said, more underwater cavern. If people are starting to feel that I've been posting too much beach/water areas, that'll be because progress is slow and I've been working on the tropical biome for some time now.

However, I am getting close to finishing this biome, and then I will be able to proceed and get some more variety in these Pics.

I am so sorry I haven't worked on the slider player, but in my defence I barely worked on anything at all.

If you want, I can send you the code/rom and you can try finishing it yourself, as it only requires some patience and not actual programming skills, but...

This screenie hijacked the line, because E3's coming so it's getting to be time for teh real newz. The opening cutscene is complete, seven minutes long and (spoiler alert) skippable for the eager adventurer. Skawo gave me everything I needed to finish the job, so you can all thank him for it.

Yes, it's seven minutes long. Because plot.
Don't get me started on the ending...

Also, in case you missed it (i.e. if you don't follow my twitter), I'm holding my own 'Digital Event' during E3 this year. This 13 minute presentation will have a new trailer for Super Mario: Endless Earth, have a reveal for that side project I mentioned a while back, and a little something else.
The clues are all around you.

It kicks off on my YouTube channel precisely two hours before Nintendo's Day 1 E3 Treehouse.

This is in lieu of a Pic of the Week for next week. You guys are already in for a treat.

They are doing a few games. But not much.
Zelda is a pretty "big" game though.

By the way, I forgot to mention I'll be on the IRC from 7AM to 9AM after the video is uploaded. Consider it an impromptu interview, so ask away about whatever.

Oh, yeah of course. But my problem wasn't with the editor, it was with the massive map image I'm making. If I edited jyotyu, I'd have to rework the map, which takes time to do.
