Wow. I said the Y axis. I'm a retard.

X axis.

You are right on the first and second time. You can flip in both ways. X and Y... or clockwise too.

The terrain actually is consistent. The room doesn't just flip vertically, but horizontally as well, because that's what happens when you rotate something 180 degrees.

Yeah, but like luluca said, it seems to flip, not rotate. And yeah, it could flip horizontally, but in this case it's vertical. Unless it is rotated and I didn't notice something.

Were those 2 side by side pics taken in the same place? If so, then you see the little grey stairway bit? It goes straight from top to bottom, therefore just being flipped vertically. Unless those 2 pictures weren't the same place though, which could be likely.

No, you fall right through them. Quite unlike their counterparts in the Clone Tag Team remakes, but really, who cares about consistency?

At the Tropical Biome land (pic 69), I saw there are some stone bricks, closing a left green pipe.

Since this area will be a supposed maze, have these bricks some special function? For example, blowing-up by a triggered event to reveal a secret location? Or these have an other objective, like block the players when they go through a wrong way?

I've changed that area a little bit since then, but the idea was that the stone blocks break if you come out of that pipe, so you can't enter it before 'unlocking' it. Now there's just a solid-on-top platform instead of stone blocks.

But is that an exit-only pipe? Because if not, then it might be better having those stone blocks there and making them explode through an "IF" event.

It is exit-only. I try to add areas that only lead one way sometimes to keep things interesting.

When you presented pic 64, it was not clear your explanation about Grrol behavior there.

Are the fragments a result of a trigger activated by Mario that make appear the Grrrol?

Or the Grrrol was already there, then bricks were broken by this sprite?

Mario has to break the bricks himself. The Grrol is a hazard but if you follow it, it will lead to and reveal a secret.

Spike balls are a interesting sprite because these ever can be used with a lot of creative puzzles and frenetic moments.

Are you thinking insert more views with these actors, simulating battles, mazes, or frenzy rooms, using a spawn behavior?

If yes, are you thinking use a classic technique, with vertical platforms like in Clone Tag Team?

Or using the alternative Sprite Spawner implementation by Mario Master?

Kisses.

I've used the spiked balls quite a few times in puzzle-ish ways in this hack. I haven't done anything like a spawn behavior like in this video, but anything is possible in the future. The fortresses will be a fun opportunity to really go nuts with my creativity.

My favorite use of the spiked balls so far in this hack is a vertical descent where the spiked ball breaks platforms away while revealing pipes you can go down, while you avoid the ball in the process. It's really fun.

Pic of the Week - Week 83

Yay, another Underground area... but this time it's a desert cave, so it's different, okay?

Plus, this underground area has its own music... the Desert theme from Super Mario 3D Land.
