Nice! But about toads apparently being able to build something- in ML Bowser's Inside Story, the passages of the toad town underground were built by the toad residents... so toads actually helping with something isn't as far fetched as it seems

I'm debating whether or not to add co-ordinates above doors to give people an idea where they'll end up. Opinions?

With the release of skawo's ASM hack, I decided to get working on the opening to get the plot of the hack across. In the end, the video I produced was 7 minutes 20 seconds long, so it was no surprise I had trouble getting the hack to work properly, but rest assured one way or another this is going to happen. Worst case scenario I include the video with the Download Pack and provide an unlock code for the ending sequence in the game credits.

This was the first 'slide' I made for the introduction, which is my personal favourite. Mario and Princess Peach enjoying each other's company on a starry night. Unlike the story sequence in New Super Mario Bros. 5: Clone Tag Team 2, this video was rendered at DS screen resolution, so it was worlds easier to make better quality images with a smaller resolution.

Two masters of design and development together. Two brilliant minds, creating a common project.
This would be awesome to see. The technique and art together to create a unique and unforgettable game, exploring the maximum core of this ROM. Where no man has gone before. My, how I would like to play this game...

Progress on that

You press A and it shows an enpg from a list. Woot. Timing/details/fades/music player/the A button prompt graphics to be worked out.

If you could, please send me your slides so I can adjust it to work nicely with them.

I'll send them right to you but I'll have to duplicate some slides and add dialogue to them first, because I used my video editor for that. Or is that not a problem?

I am the whore of the resource forum. I needed a way of rejuvenating the underground and underwater areas, so I decided to make an water/cave area to mix it up. I manually edited the palette of the Volcano backgrounds to preserve its quality.

The backgroun is nice . But is it animate?

Even if you found a way to graphically make them more beautiful , the underground and submarine levels they will remain always the most boring in my opinion.

Ah, and have I noticed that in every your hack you have not changed the ? Block and the Bricks Block. Do you believe that in this hack you will change them? It would graphically be nicer.

1. The background does animate if it's used in 8-6. I haven't figured out how to get it working outside 8-6 yet.

2. It's not specifically about graphics, but game mechanics that can be achieved from mixing underground and underwater.

3. I don't see an urgent need to update the jyotyu blocks, but mostly I'm afraid I'll screw it up.

Have you tried exporting 8-6 and importing it into your desired level?

Yes, but that didn't work.

Don't worry, I think I have a solution.

Actually the FG and BG in slots 7 and 31 will be animated only if they are used in tandem with either Tileset 7 or 31 (which one doesn't matter).
In both tilesets, Palette 1 is the one who allows the volcanic backgrounds to be animated.

So you must import graphics palette by palette thanks to the "Import this bitmap and recreate palette" option, all at the same time while not importing anything in Palette 1, essentially meaning that you can use only 3 palettes for Tilesets 7 and 31.

OK, got it. I'll see what I can do. But how would I add an extra two palettes to those tilesets without affecting the first one?

EDIT: I just tried replacing the tileset completely and the animation is intact.

A filler pic this week, sorry guys. But I have some new design ideas that I'm going to try out in my upcoming 6-Day Weekend.

Well, it's been a year since I started doing this. Time flies, doesn't it?

Here's a place where time moves even faster. Welcome to the Flower Fields. In this part of the Endless Earth, the time alternates from day to night depending on the mission you've selected. When you play around in the Flower Fields in the finished hack, you might notice that the Flower Fields change between day and night time.

And props to the guys who supply the Resource Forum, because without it this hack wouldn't be nearly as far along.

Is there going to be only two 'dayparts' (day-night)? Maybe you could make four (morning-afternoon-evening-night). Of course, night would be darker than evening, and for afternoon you could use a more yellow sky background.

I could do more time variants for the Flower Fields, but first things first I have to see if I'll have enough background space once I've reached a point where the hack is more complete.

Once the overworld is complete, the hack will basically be 80% done.

If you've played the demo, you might've noticed that there's a part of the underwater environment that isn't accessible.

This is a part of that little area, and it seems the reason it was blocked off is because there was Power Star hiding here!

The star looks a bit fat. Can you should us how it looks from front, or maybe the whole animation?
