I still don't fully understand the gameplay - I guess I'll have to wait. But it definitely sounds interesting.

But I think some areas looked a bit crowded with enemies (and there were few quite low ceilings) in the demos/footage/images you've released so far. I hope you will fix that.

Pic of the Week - Week 94

I forgot that I didn't have a pic lined up for this week, so instead of taking one, have this picture of the title screen?

Sorry not sorry.

You're the worst user on this site. I hate you. KYS.
You couldn't just take a random screenshot from anywhere in the game though?

Well for what it's worth, that is a really nice looking title screen.

Pic of the Week - Week 95

Reaching the end of development of the overworld, the mountainous area is basically all that's left to complete. With this area, I wanted players to experiment with the effects of either going up or down in a confined space with solid-on-top platforms.

Wait...is the over world the only development you've made, or is the over world the levels... (please don't take this offensively not trying to hate on the hack, just slightly confused)

The overworld is the open world.

Pic of the Week - Week 96

Being this close to the end of overworld development, I wanted to hark back to the early days of development with a new Forest area, which brought back some memories when I couldn't really see myself having reached the point that I have to this day.

With some milestones recently reached, I've decided to take a week off, dedicating it only to alpha testing/bug fixing of the overworld, while leaving the more stressful future tasks at bay for a little while. I'll be back in full swing in time for Pic of the Week #97.

I have to say: that's the most awful Pic of the Week I've seen.
Did you never thought to change the Forest's bottom BG? It's a bit ugly, since everything is green...

When the camera is fixed to the bottom of the view, (which it often is,), the BG looks great. I might consider using a different one for vertical areas when I update the graphics.

As I've been saying, I'll update the graphics once the map has fully been plotted out for consistency. It makes slightly more sense to provide players a slightly outdated map as a guide than a map that mashes up a bunch of different builds, and I have no intention to completely rebuild it.

EDIT:

Also holy shit, 70 minutes of gameplay is only a FRACTION of the entire game?

inb4 9/10 of entire game

The game's length really depends on the player. If you know exactly where to go, you'll be done in an hour or two. But you could potentially be exploring the world forever without getting anywhere. But, put a bunch of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and eventually they'll write Shakespeare, so...
