So yeah, pretty self-explanatory. Was wondering why some of y'all got into nsmbds hacking, how you guys found out about it, and what brought y'all to the board.

Early footages (2004-2006) of NSMB got me there.

I wanted to make a NSMB mod, that included all levels from all NSMB build footages, in a single ROM.

NSMB Hacking was being fun at first, but after long times I started to lose motivation, hence this is why I slowed down on the development of my mods.

And I've also been on this board before I registered (the first time I visited this board, was back in 2013 IIRC).

The game came out when I was one year old, so I started playing it when I was 3 y.o.. It has been the game of my life. And then I discovered the editor. And now I'm here.

I was watching romhack-related videos on my iPod in early 2016 when I was 12. I found some videos from SKJmin and  MarioFanatic64. The next day, I made an account here. I wasn't active for a few months but then I started getting interested into NSMB2DS. I tried continuing the hack and failed. I was kinda done with NSMB hacking at that point, until a few months later. My attempt at making an SM64 hack (Super Mario 64 Galaxy Collection) had failed. I found out I was really bad at 3D modelling. I still wanted to make an SM64 hack though, even if I couldn't model. That's how Star Collect came into being. Funny thing is, now I totally can model well enough to make an SM64 hack.

Man, I didn't even knew you could edit ROMs until January this year, and when I found out, I immediatelly installed the editor and created an account some weeks later.

I was looking for and more and NSMB hacks and then I came across the 3 hacks that gave me the most interest in looking for more, which were New Super Mario Deluxe, which I got on YouTube, like New Super Mario Bros 3, and Ididn't get my Favorite hack, New Super Mario Advance + Take 2, that no matter how much I looked for it, I never got it, and then I found NSMBHD, and looked for it but since I didn't know that itwas a thread or anything, I dedicated myself to being in the charger, and seeing What hack was going up, and then I noticed that they did not go up any more, that was in December, last year, and then it would not beuntil February 2 that I register, and stop wandering through the charger, I uploaded the hacks that I liked the most and I got in trouble, and then a week later I started working on my hack, NSMBTNL, and released beta 1, it wasshit but it was the beginning, I uploaded the review and it was nothing and a small change, in beta 2 I got into problems for the name, but it was shit, and then I met a funny hack, Newer Super Mario Odyssey, but since it was not complete I decided to kick his ass, and I stole the music, and the floors and also the super mario endless earth, but itwas not for revenge, I just liked the funds, but when I released beta 3, the hack that I thought would kick his ass, but he kicked me, and I got into trouble, that many know why, I decided to give up atthat moment and then skylander and keeper gave me motivation and skylander helped me with my hack, and now I took NSMBTNL out of the trash, and I promise that I will not get in trouble this time, and the hack will be good, now Iput the board, and so I got here

I’ve generally been a Mario/Nintendo fan since I was really young, and the same could be said about a lot of my cousins and other family members. My older cousin used to be a really big fan of NSMBW modding, and introduced me to Newer Wii, which had recently released, and Reggie! one time I went to his house. The idea of being able to make my own levels and mods fascinated me greatly at the time. Many years later, I revisited the NSMB games after playing them on emulators, and eventually learned more about the current modding scenes for the games, as well as new mods that had been released and others that were in the works. The old fascination returned to me at that moment, and I decided to jump in and give modding a shot myself. And now, over a year later, we’re here.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 Anew!

Fun fact: After I found out about NSMBHD but before I knew about Newer, I was planning to do a hack and I thought: "Well, the game is called New Super Mario Bros., so my hack can be called Newer Super Mario Bros". And then I noticed that already existed a Newer, and I played that hack and loved it.

Well, I don't know anymore the exact reason, why I joined here, but I do know that I wanted to make a NSMB hack. I joined here before Newer Super Mario Bros. DS boomed here. Well, creating your own levels makes fun and NSMBDS and NSMBWii had no dramatic limits as Super Mario Maker/Super Mario Maker 2. That's why I thought it would be cool to make a NSMB hack. But I never learnt to inject ASM hacks, probably because I was too young and too stupid to understand it back then. It's pity that I haven't ever finished my hacks, but I had a great time here playing other NSMBDS ROM hacks.

I wish you had finished them, when I got here I planned to do a stupid hack that never came out of my imagination, it was called new super mario bros all power ups deluxe, but I saw that it required a lot of work and asmandcanceledit, it was too stupid to say so, but i don't come here with the intention of hacking exactly, that happened later

There are plenty of better hacks in this world. Mine weren't even good, and I'm not sad about that I haven't finished them. I moved into better things, like gaming, writing own stories, mod other games.

I played NewerSMBDS,then I get shocked.I want to make a new hack that contains my sick ideas.
I found this website on long time ago,but I register the Luigie account just on this year.(My first name is "ImmaSuckGuy")
After a long battle of myself I released my first version of my first hack though it's not very N I C E but it's my first step to do it
and i know alpha ricbent bl4zed skawo etc omg Im happy now

When I first played Newer I also was blown away (don't say "shocked", cause - I know you're not English - it's an adjective for negative stuff - I guess...). I didn't know that it was possible to edit so much stuff and make a incredible hack (I would say equal or even better than the original - of course it was 2006...).

Newer DS seemed better than the original in fact I came to think it was from Nintendo, then I discovered that it was a hack and started the search for New Super Mario Advance + Take 2, in fact it is one of my favorite hacks, Iloved the BGM_CHIKA, it's great right
