I was wondering if I could get some tips on how to make grass. I already attempted twice on making some and they didn't turn out to my liking.

I think it's just fine! I don't see any problems or stuff like that.

The main problem I had with it was I didn't really think they fit with NSMBDS's style and the edges would be tricky to make. However, after a bit of tinkering, I ended up with this. Any suggestions?

Where does the lighting come from, shadows, etc

It think the last one you made looks pretty good, but personally I would add a bigger transition between the lightest green where the shine is and the rest of the normal color, makes it look less pillow shaded.
