You uses the hack name  snake block was planning to use, but I guess it is fine. Game over, hamza.

Nice hack, by the way.

Oh, and the remakes are good, but people usually overuse remaking 1-1 of Super Mario Bros.
So, don't reamke too much. Making your own levels makes your hack looks better.

It doesn't affects the hack, but it does for the hack's popularity.

Also, bad grammar makes the speaking guy look stupid. (I didn't want to be rude, tough)

Yeah there is! It's if you wants to make a very long level using multiple views to make a short remake in your hack without to use many tilesets that you won't reuse anywhere else in your hack.

And everytime a Admin has to come and warn the user, directly remove his header or both in some cases.



So, could any Admin put the 'No image/text but styles in the post header is allowed' (or call it however you wish) rule in the FAQ please?

 MarioFanatic64, I agree the thread wasn't active. But the project didn't die.





NSMB2 DS - Thierry's release



It is a cleaned and improved version of the hack, that I released. Now NSMB2 hacking started, I will probably leave the hack in someone else's hands, it is cleaner than how it was before.

To play on DeSmuME or on real DS via a flashcard.

Progress: W1 [complete], W2-1


I have to thank to  mrrikihino for giving me the ROM he has of NSMB2 DS. It was the last thing left of the hack, back then.

Well infact, beside the fact it's not really that much of a open world, and Wesley had the star-replacing-star-coin idea before  MarioFanatic64 did. Just because someone don't make his hack as fast as the other, doesn't mean he is copying the other's hack to steal it's celebrity.

And note Wesley actually made custom models and imported them into the game [ex. the power star that is fully custom]. Learning how to do that properly and correctly in a way it works on both emulators and DS flashcards takes time.

Also, if he learnt that fast to do it, it's because we worked as a team, solving problems and getting it done faster.

Here is a little trick I used for a while to have areas with no music at all. I decided to share it here for you.


A sample

NSMBeClip|VIW:704:400:256:192:0:112:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0| - A sample view [to paste in NSMBe for use] with no music, as long as you don't touch the music parameters. The trick is to set the music ID to 112, as the max working ID is 111.



Removing the music of any view

- Cut the view
- Paste it (the NSMBe clip) somewhere like on Notepad
- Replace the music ID number by 112 (sixth number starting from the left)
- Copy/cut the NSMBe clip you just edited back into your clipboard
- Paste the clip back in NSMBe. Move the view back where it was previously in your level
- Feel free to edit the view's params, but don't touch the music one or else you will have to redo the whole thing.
- The editor saying the view uses the music n°0 is normal.


Note: View works on both emulators and flashcards.

Uh oh, you used a translator. Well whatever.

The hack looks good and clean (but with many enemies on some levels) from the screenshots, but you didn't need to hide the Yoshi powerups that much, it just makes it obvious.

Beside the fact SaturnYoshi meant to point you posting the thread at the wrong place, I feel more like a music hacker would generally keep his music to himself since it's still much work.
