Ah, well that's nice to know.

Also, welcome back (I guess I should say.) I haven't seen you in like 4 months.

I'm talking about everything else that has lighting, not just the powerups or even the 2D sprites. For example... Mario. Or pretty much every 3d model.
What I'm saying is that it looks too low-contrasted when compared to... almost everything else, really. Because all the things that use 3d models have a very dark undertone/shading style to them.

(Also... it bothers me a little that the planets in the background seem to be a bit too...close. This might be the nitpickiest thing I've said in, like, the entire month, though.)

(Unless the shaders could somehow be changed to look more modern/lighter?)

I haven't had much to post here recently, but I've been doing lots of stuff for Newer DS all the same. So... thanks?

(Maybe I should post here more in general.)

I recognize that NSMB has that harsh lighting style, but I don't feel like it's really a problem to move away from that, especially when we've updated so many sprites that way.

We might be able to decrease the scroll rate for that background. I'll ask skawo.

Or else just change the scrolling speed per level?

You know, I've been wondering about this. How feasible would it be to be able to change the shaders a little bit? Like, to make the harsh lighting look a little less...harsh. I've never liked NSMBDS's lighting style, it looks way too dated since it's extremely dark and un-stylized.

I know, I know, shaders probably can't be modified, but I feel like it'd be interesting to maybe give it a go.

Is that "newer" text in the logo meant to be on a red background? Because in the original NSMBDS, (as everybody knows) it's on a yellow background.

The logo would look like this if it had the Yellow background. However what Skawo is doing is quite a unique color choice since it takes place after the Wii version. Newer U will have the light blue background. By the way Skawo I don't claim this logo as my own but it was just a visual try. So props to you man or whoever made the original.

Yeah though I am not really sure why Skawo really went with Red for the DS Logo still. I mean New Super Mario Bros. Wii had Red and so did Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii for the color background. So why he is choosing Red for the DS one seems...inconsistent not that it matters of course he probably wanted to make it different and less confusing after all he made the Wii version first.
Newer U (upcoming) is of course right on the blue color.

Are we really at that point where people are asking why the logo is red instead of yellow?

I went with red because the yellow looks absolutely horrible in my opinion.

Wow okay Skawo chooses and made his reason on why he chose red wisely I never said the idea sucked. I was honestly just curious to why he chose red so there you go. Seriously I wasn`t trying to start an argument on this. Seems silly to argue over a color too. It makes the game title more different then the original and unique.

Look, if the logo isn't yellow I don't want anything to do with this hack.

Ummm okay? not sure if that was a joke or not?

You kind of have to know how others speak here to fully tell if something is a joke or not.

It doesn't take that long to figure it out, however.
