I've made a replica of the E3 2004 Alpha version of NSMB. This is my first NSMB Hack.

Download here:
1.0:
NSMB ALPHA.xdelta

1.1:

1.2:

1.3:

1.4:

1.5:

2.0:

2.1
newmario_a_r_2.1.xdelta

2.2:

2.3:
https://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=aDl5Xg5XCWkZ9ms5

2.4:
https://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=oio89eQLEaBRAlMG

2.5:

2.6:
https://nsmbhd.net/file/I47EPncKuPjmVJzo/nsmbalpha2.6.xdelta
EDIT (December 8, 2018): I've got a report that the patch for the version 2.6 was broken, so the link is updated, the new link points to the fixed version. It should now patch correctly.

2.7:

2.8:
https://mega.nz/#!gc4UhAzL!won7XI-hW7rfjMNndfvwrn3gkEUuieKOjgGVYgRjvoQ
NOTE: NSMBHD's uploader was being problematic to me (the upload cuts at the middle and Chrome says that the page was either moved or non-existant), so I had to upload the patch to another file sharing site.

2.9:
NSMB Alpha 2.9.xdelta

3.0:
NSMB Alpha Replica 3.0

Well I can congratulate you for getting most of the resources yourself instead of stealing.

I know someone might mention the fact there wasn't only two (alpha/beta) early builds of NSMB tough.

But I saw only 2 early versions of NSMB: Alpha (E3 2004) and Beta (E3 2005).

Personally, this hack needs more improvement. It's cool to recreate what the beta would have been like, but most of the levels were not good. Most of it left the original level design, just with small tweaks. 1-1 has obvious references to.. Well... 1-1. I've seen that 1-2 gets repeated in 1-4. 1-2 is even has references to 1-4. Also most of the levels BARLEY had changes. The Tower level is the same with no edits and so is 1-5, and the castle level. The only thing in the castle that is orginal is the remake of one of the beta videos where the 3D Goomba touches the SM64DS Mushroom and becomes a GODZILLA Goomba. Granted it appeared in the Forest World 4, but I digress. I also noticed glitches with the tilesets at times. It's all my opinion, so others please agree or not.

I'll fix these bugs soon, if I would have enough time.

EDIT: Also, in the original Alpha (E3 2004) version, as seen in the trailer, the levels were very short and going in an infinite loop. (there's likely a debug menu to access other levels, but we'll never know). Also, there're only 4 levels: Grassland, Sunset, City, Castle.

EDIT 2: It's Mega Goomba not GODZILLA Goomba.

[post about how there weren't only two (alpha/beta) early versions of NSMB and that there is no evidence that the E3 2004 trailer version had a debug menu or looping levels]

@Ambiance 69
Just because somebody named their YouTube video "NSMB alpha" or "NSMB beta" or similar, doesn't mean they are right.

I played the World 1. Quite interesting. I liked to play. The Mega Goomba froze on my flash card, but it worked in the emulator. It would be nice if this version would evolve into something new. For example, starting a new implementation of others Worlds... Have Positive thumb.

Version 1.4 of this hack has been released.
Changes from 1.3 are nothing special, but improved HUD and improved pseudo-3D Goombas and Koopas.

Why are you using early multiplayer music in singleplayer mode?

Because it's the only beta music that still exists in the final NSMB.

It isn't, and anyway that wouldn't mean it fits.

The music fits with the Grass and Sunset level, but the City level would probably be more suited with the Ghost House Theme.

Remember though, that while the music was to be used for multiplayer, at this point in development the multiplayer mode was full-blown co-op, meaning the music probably would have been used in single player mode too.

There isn't any evidence that "beta" MvsL mode was a co-op mode. It appears it was the same as final MvsL, but it was a race, and had more levels. And more interesting levels.
