Another thread with the same feature list and no progress whatsoever and no description of what it is about.

Then why do you make a thread with incomplete stuff like this.
Basically this is rubbish you changed hardly anything in 1-1, you used the music hack, your using NSMBW tilesets, you have copied things from other people.

And the way you ask for peoples help.....

I don't know whether people should ignore this or ask why?

It just encourages other people to do the same thing, and this happens on RVLution as well.

The problem is these "hacks" are trashing the NSMB Hacks fourm.

I will accept that this hack is incomplete. But I will not accept that you made a thread for it, you copied other peoples work and your now asking for help without even describing what the project?

These sort threads should be trashed immediately.

There a positive aspect to getting stuck. It would allow the other player to get the stars when you are stuck in there, it would work like a trap.

But if you really want to prevent it:

You tried replacing the castle with the snow level and remaking it - and it did not work.
Maybe it is not the level that stops the mega mushroom from appearing maybe it is the filename.

So try swapping the snow and castle level (so the snow level is in the castles place and the castle level is is in the snows place) and to make icons match up - swap the icon files.
And now the game thinks the snow level is the castle level, and no mega mushroom appears.



About the tiles:
some tile behavours work and some don't and you can change them

I join and make a level (if I can).
I don't like levels where the clone gets offscreen, so my level will have auto or retro scrolling.

I'm probably falling for their trick, but somebody on youtube mentioned a "nsmb beta cart" on a NSMB beta related video.

I can't find anything on ebay.

Has anybody seen the mentioned ebay page or maybe a blog linking to it?
(Or even got/bought a prototype).

The only special versions of nsmb that I know of are just timed demos (E and U versions) of the final game but you can find roms of them and they are for sale on ebay too so I'm not interested in them.

I want to get this done so I am asking here:

What? If you were trying to say that it would be difficult to do, I know that, I'm just making a suggestion.

I'm just saying it would be a little less work because the game already includes Mario with a shell and the hammer model is in there somewhere.

It is miniscule in comparison to the work that needs to be done for coding the powerup.

The door should be the 'Event Triggered Door' sprite.
And if you want to display images here.

1. Take the screenshot. Most common method: PrtSc / Print Screen key on the keyboard, and paste it into paint and save.

2. Upload it:. Most common method: go to imgur.com and upload the image, then copy the direct link / address of the image.

3. Put it "in" your post. Most common method: write
[img][/img]
in your post and paste the image link in between the two blocks, like this
