When you edit a lvl in NSMBe5 there's no need to use XDelta, unless you are making the final version to give to others. Try transferring the edited rom directly and don't use XDelta

(FYI this would be best suited for General ROM Hacking). Since SM64 Ds is a 3d game, it uses 3D models for levels. So to make custom levels you need to create a 3D model for the game to load. If you’re just starting in 3D modeling, I would suggest using Sketchup 8 (a 3D modeling tool).

I found a minor bug if your window is narrow enough, and the Navigation bar is over a post on the tops of the page, the post renders on top of the navigation bar. Seems to be only visual, but it's a bug never the less.

This wouldn't work.
Let's assume we found a way for 4 DS's to connect, and that was found a way to add the correct models and everything, this still isn't possible. The RAM on the DS is too limited, it already struggles enough to load both players and the sprites/levels. While hacking this game mode, if there are more than a handful of sprites in a level, slow down occurs or it just outright crashes. Welcome to the MvsL Starter Pack!
v3.1 Fixed the README Removed an ASM that causes issues v3 Updated the pack with Here's the download! Do you mean a Pipe Cannon? If so, you should be able to place it in your level using Actor ID 189. Check out 6-6 for examples of using the sprite.

We use a forum channel for user projects, so I'd argue it's roughly the same experience. I just want nobody to have like, a problem with it. Would it hurt anything to see how it goes having the forums stay archived for a bit?
