Major board update!

We now have a mobile-friendly layout. Most credit for this goes to  Arisotura, I based the code off the one he made for Kuribo64. Click the link in the footer to test it. Suggestions are welcome.

Also, while I was at copypasting code, I decided to copypaste subforums too. Credit for this goes entirely to  Arisotura, this time completely
(But we aren't using any subforum yet)

I like how the password strength meter I've lately added to ABXD also appeared in this mobile-friendly layout update. It isn't connected at all, just new feature. I guess it isn't so major, but I can note that too (it's changelog, even minor features count). Now you cannot use lame passwords, like 123456 or password (or Yourname1998). Feel free to check your current password with it too - we cannot tell you whatever your password is safe or not, because they have been converted using one-direction function.

Unlike many other passwords checkers, it doesn't simply check "enough characters, digits, symbols and stuff. Your password could be good, even if it just has letters. As for my advice for good passwords, use four random common words, and don't repeat passwords. It's easy to memorize and hard to guess. http://passphra.se/ can generate passwords like "??????p????????lanet fi?re di???e further". It's good password, even if it doesn't have symbols, numbers, or such nonsense - hard to guess, easy to remember.

Remember that if somebody will get your password (because of security issue on certain website you were registered on, or by bruteforcing (but that one shouldn't happen, because four random common words are safe)), he will get access to every account you had this password on. If you use unique password for every website, you should be safe.

You can preview it at https://nsmbhd.net/register/ (or "Edit profile" page), by typing something into "Password" field. When you type password in password checker, nothing gets submitted - everything is calculated on client side.

However there needs to be a forum index button in the main page, rather than pressing the ... Button, then the forums button.

Also, in the mobile layout some parts of post layouts are still not blocked, xfix's and  Arisotura's for example.

Yesterday I pushed...

The Karma Update

Basically, now:

+1 is +10 to karma.
Deleted post is -25.
Trashed thread is -25.
Deleted thread is -40.

And now karma shows on the sidebar of posts, and on the tooltips of usernames.

And you can see which users have given most +1's to someone on his profile.

A clarification on why I did this:

The purpose of this change is to encourage post quality instead of silly postcount++.

If due to this update you have lower karma than before, it meanse you made lots of bad posts in the past that got deleted. Try to improve

But it's SO NOT COOL.

Now we have to keep trying to get a million +1s to get upper than 0 karma. Plain boring.

The key to getting positive karma is not having deleted posts.

Having a post deleted is BAD, people should've known that before. But since it didn't affect anything, people wouldn't care at all, and then post shit, who cares if it gets deleted, I'll still have one more post.

The fact that people are complaining now and not before proves exactly this.

And Dirbaio, nice update here, but there's a little wrench here, now the karma pretty much acts as your "score" kinda, which makes the real score feature seems kind of useless no ?

Yeah, that "score" has always been useless.

Currently it's simply calculated according to this formula:
$score = ($daysKnown * 2) + ($posts * 4) + ($threads * 8) + (($karma - 100) * 3);

Maybe we could make every post add +1 to karma, every thread add +2 to karma, and then remove the score altogether.

Offtopic:

Just a suggestion.
I've seen on everyone is an admin day a kind of list that shows how much posts and threads where deleted per user.
Can that list be public, to know if you are walking on thin ice.
That would also improve some post quality.
