I don't know if this is a right topic to discuss here in General chat, but I want to know if you guys have troubles at sleeping. What I can tell is, that I have lately troubles at sleeping and I couldn't sleep very well since days. It would also be nice to hear some tips how to sleep better, because it's unhealthy not to sleep.

Try to ignore the problems if you can not solve it for some reason and for example when everything is silent in my house during the day it makes me sleepy and more if I am alone, especially in the evenings maybe it will help you, or try to do something that tires you but does not bore you or distract you so much, that can help you since everything is silent and those things, cause a slight boredom and can make you sleepy, I hope it helps you.

Don't know how much you are on your smartphone over the day but try reducing the use of it. Especially about one hour before going to sleep you should try not to use any screens (smartphone/pc/console) at all.
That could help but it depends, if you are already doing that... welp.

Theres a supplement called Meletonin, which could help you out. Should be able to find it with ease. Its completely safe and it should make you tired enough to sleep.

Are you just not tired of having trouble getting your brain to shut off?

What would you do in that time (to entertain yourself)?

Er, reading? Drawing? Music? Just wanna remind you we have several millennia's worth of screen-free history. We have come up with more than a few ways to entertain ourselves.

I bought an e-reader about half a year ago to get away from screens before sleep.

My sleep has gradually been getting pretty good since then.

I thought an e-reader was also a screen? ?

I have that problem sometimes (it's more about not falling asleep). A good thing to do is to wake up early in the morning (about 8 or 9 a.m.). It usually works for me. Hope I helped you

It isn't. e-readers use e-ink displays which don't emit light. To the eye it is exactly like reading a regular book.

Oh, that's a great idea. I haven't ever used this method, but I think I might try it out. Thanks, for the tip!

I think I'll search for a supplement called Melatonin, thanks. I'm actually tired, even when I haven't slept well, but I couldn't sleep in. Today I actually slept well. I got sometimes awake, but in overall I slept almost or over 6 hours. It's not usually to sleep only 6 hours, but better than nothing.

It could be useful to have an e-reader. I like to read stories, and it might help to sleep better. I think I'll look around for that as well.

Thank you very much, for all these tips!

Whoops, misspelled it lol. Screens dont bother the way I sleep but Im sure it'll help a lot too. Also, on cool summer nights, leaving the window open for fresh air helps me sleep a lot better too. Breathing plays a huge role

That's really bad. I suggest you at least install a blue filter so you don't ruin your eyes with that. I've installed an app called Twilight which greatly reduces display light and filters the blue colors at sunset.
I know it's not that easy but I force myself to never use the phone as soon as I go to sleep. Only if I forgot to set the alarm or something similar.

Modern Smartphones have a blue filter installed, without using an extra App.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give Twilight a try.

I just installed Twilight and it is much better although one question, what exactly does it do to the screen just out of curiosity?

I don't have the app, but I'm guessing it dims the screen and puts a filter on it to make it easier on your eyes. My PC has a sunset filter on it that does that at a certain time every evening

Oh I understand, but I think it wastes a lot of battery or maybe it's just me, but it's very useful and healthy, thanks for telling me it existed I really didn't know about it.
