Be sure to name the ROM "nsmb.nds" and place it on the root of your micro SD card. (root means the first directory, not inside a folder)
Then put the nsmb-editor ALSO on the root of your micro SD card and start it. Now the romfile won't be null anymore.

I wonder whether it'll work on my R4Ultra or not. Haven't try yet, due to examination period.

But one thing to ask, could we edit levels right now with current builds? It'll save a lot of time for my hack editing when I've to go out. XD
Because mostly of the time for my hack goes to the level editing.

I am sure it works on R4Ultra. There is no reason, why it should not.
You cannot really make levels with the DS Editor right now. (You can only edit objects and Sprites, no Views, paths and zones)

Hrm, you can't really CREATE levels, but it can edit and add little things to levels quite easily.

For example, adding flowers/creating more sprites could EASILY be done..
Things like deleteing everything in a level and create a new one, couldn't be easily done, I have done it but it is hard. -mainly because of the non viewable views...

In short, fixing bugs / adding a little more to a level could be done...
But, creating a completely new level can't be.

Well I highly encourage Dirbaio to finish it then make it easier to edit levels and stuff then we can work on levels everywhere! (well not everywhere) its more like "easy to carry around" as the DS is smaller than a laptop.

We can carry our levels around, and when new ideas come up in your mind while you're shopping, walking around, sitting, tripping, we could good bye to a little memo paper! Just make them right now!

Lol, I often said the same to dirbaio He wants to finish it maybe after NSMBe PC^^ I'm also working a bit on the DS editor. For now my work is focused on sprite images. A few are already implemented

I like the NSMBe DS too, but only for debugging.
Since I cannot really "create" levels, like CoolAs said, I'd rather edit levels on the PC.
The PC has anything, the DS can only edit the levels a bit.

To make a level I need a complete equipment:
-Photoshop CS5 (image editing)
-Google (for textures and ideas)
-YouTube (for ideas)
-NSMBe (levels and file exporting)
-Other hacking tools (3d models and sdat)
-NSMBHD (hmmm.....)

And that's it! On the DS I ONLY have NSMBe DS. So I cannot really make something special.

But it is also very portable even if it can only edit a little we can carry it in our pockets likewise NSMBePC lacks portability but has alot of options but NSMBeDS has alot of portability but lacks advanced options

Its like NSMBeDS is the exact opposite of NSMBePC

Some problem...
(I used R4Ultra)
I could get the editor to work perfectly but I can't open the rom I've edited. (After edited, save, closedd the DS then reopened.)

Any Ideas?

Or it can't be edited again?
Or that it boots fine just the level is corrupted?

Ummmmm sorry for not-clear explanation. XD
I can't open the edited nsmb rom by R4Ultra. Do you know, before we can open the rom we have to either press "A" button or click the rom name at the bottom scrren with touch pen, right? But in this case, nothing happens when I press "A" or touch the screen. Just like you pressed "A" when the flashcart was freezing. Before I edited the nsmb rom I could open that normally. After edited, it happened.

No, it can still be edited with the editor. Editor boots perfectly and can open the rom. But R4Ultra can't open it.

So, you can boot roms edited with NSMBe for PC, and not roms edited with NSMBeDS?

O.o

Sounds like a bug in NSMBe's filesystem code =D
