So, let's say I have a Mario and sonic in the Olympic winter games cartridge. But I want it to have my Nsmb hack. Is there any way to do that? Do I have to bump it or something?

You need a flashcard such as R4 or DSTwo

That is not possible unless you have way too much time on your hands and also have some expert knowledge about computers. You might as well just buy a flashcart.

the closest you can do is open cartridges and swap the PCBs.

the game is written to a ROM chip, which means it can't be reprogrammed. the only counterexample I know is WarioWare DIY which is written to a NAND chip.

The easiest way is a flashcart like r4. I own one and its really easy to use (or at least easier than swapping chips in ds cartridges xD)

you can, if you can produce new ROM chips with your romhacks on them

I guess you will get away way cheaper if you just buy a simple r4 and add a firmware that automatically loads a specific rom. Then just glue a label on it and you got your cartridge

Or just find a repro guy who'll make one for you for the low low price of $199.95

Bet you can't find a manufacturer willing to print a single bootleg cart.
