Tho that is how the thwomp model works. It just mirrors the other half. You cannot do it better with the stock model.
With asm you could just draw s simple quad ontop it with a non-symetrical texture (see Staple's Sprite 100 hack).

Alternatively the model'd have to be redone entirely and textures had to be ordered correctly to make the texture animations still work.

I guess he's better just leaving it how it is.

It looks okay, but too much like a blue flame, especially with that lighter shading at the top. Try making the texture more grey, like the water.

I'd say more light blue and maybe transparent.


the water looks this way because he's using the OpenGL renderer, which can't render it right.
