Hello. A quick question, how do you make a custom world map. Not paths or anything, the,I guess you could say, the terrain itself(?).

Thanks in Advance ~Ndymario

...You model it.
Here: SketchUp and Blender.
Edit: Also if you feel like "paying" for it here's 3ds Max and Maya.

Actually, you can get a 3 years free trial for both of them if you're studying 3D modeling
All you need to do is add some student informations to your account...

Thank you, also how do you import it. (For example replace W-1)

Export the model to .obj and then convert that .obj to .nsbmd with MKDS Course Modifier.

Import that .nsbmd into NSMB by replacing the correct file. (map->w1.nsbmd)

I've tried this, and nothing appears. It's just a black background (with the nodes, castles etc. of course). I think it may have something to do with me not texturing it but I tried to add some solid colour textures and it came up with some error

Also, be sure to use the latest MKDSe build.

NSBMD to OBJ without glitchy result?

Yep, lack of textures does make the model invisible.

Make sure that all textures have a resolution that is a multiple of 8. That's probably why you were getting an error with the solid colors. Also, you'll require a lot of trial and error when it comes to scaling and positioning.

When editing an existing model and using the latest MKDSe, you won't have to scale anything.

How do you edit the existing model? I can't find any OBJ importers for sketchup that aren't free. And people apparently aren't interested enough in them to provide cracks create free plugins for the community.

Edit: Now "the given path's format is not supported" when I try to create an NSMBD

Edit 2: AND THAT ONLY HAPPENS WITH THAT 1 FILE GOD DAMN IT

Er..

I can not find any OBJ importers for sketchup that are not free.

Anyway, you really should look for some NSBMD Tutorial. Don't ask everything here. Use Google.

NSMBD tutorial?

Closest thing I could find was  ray's MKDS tutorial. Thanks for the help though.
