VERSION 2.x STRIKES!

I've skipped 1.6 and switched to 2.0 version of this hack.

Changes from 1.5:

Better top screen HUD
Changed "L" and "W" colors on the bottom screen
Better Koopa Shells (ripped from intro)
Slight redesign for 1-Tower and 1-Castle (Boss part)

I have found a bug in your hack ( last version): when you beat the Mega Goomba in W1 Castle, the game freeze. Tested on my 2DS with r4igold.

To make the Goombas look better, you could also just replace Splunkin's model (/enemy/kabochan.nsbmd) by Mega Goomba's model.

But I've just noticed that the Goombas used a different model in the 2004 Prototype, because of the different animations (compare the final Mega Goomba walking animation, and the Goomba in the E3 2004 Trailer), and Mega Goomba being smaller in size. The model and animations are re-used from SM64DS in the 2004 beta. So replacing Splunkin model would be pointless, because as I mentioned here, the model was different. Beta model, ripped from SM64DS, had a lower poly count than the final model.

No one noticed the different model BTW

Version 2.1 is out, of this hack.

This update is basically nothing more than the underground bonus area;



This footage had more of the Underground bonus arena, and using this, this area was remade in NSMB Alpha Replica v2.1. Accessible in this hack, in levels 1-1 and 1-5.

A great hack, I played on my DS Lite.
Too bad the game after the first Boss So the Castle Level crashes.

Because of many players reporting that the game stops after defeating the Mega Goomba on Real DS, I had to move that boss to its original world (World 4), and restored World 1 to the Bowser boss battle. Here's it in action:
