Ever wish that the New Super Mario Bros. game were harder?
Well here it is! A full-length 8 World hack is coming your way!
The Mushroom Pack is based off of Mario Maker levels and the Impossible Pack from NSMB2 with harder levels in all, but you know, 8 worlds now.


This hack will use the vanilla tiles but some custom decorations made by me, additionally this will keep almost all of the original level themes but not copied from the game.
Levels will either: Be much longer, have short time period, no checkpoint, or just be difficult.
Please note: This is not a Kazio hack, all levels should be possible.

No demo... That might make it easier.

I have to congratulate Newer Team on a job well done, not only did the match the quality of Nintendo and NewerWii they surpassed it in every way possible!
Only once in a few years does a hack of this magnitude come along so this is something truly special.

Also shoutouts to whoever got the file size to be smaller than the original game.

Honestly, if you need to take a break or delay the game more that is completely understandable.

You don't need to run yourself into the ground over this, it's not your obligation even if you might feel like it is.

It's rule of thumb around here to have something to show if you want people to help you, for all we know you could have us make levels and stuff just for you to take it and run. You know?

Make your logo about the size of the original.

Also I would refrain from typing in memes, because personally I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're serious or not...

1) In this case a ROM is the software that is in the game cartridge, being New Super Mario Bros. on the DS.
In order to use NSMBe you need to have a copy of the software on your computer in the .nds format, you get this by dumping your physical copy or through other means (which we cannot go into detail here)

2) The server function is meant for multiple people working on the same ROM, you can use NSMBe 100% normally without it. All it's used for is confusing new people

I'd suggest making a small project plan before hand, something in notepad or google docs that helps you keep track of your progress and ideas.

Definitely start small and get a feel for what you're capable of, don't try to take on a project that's to big for you to handle. (A lot of that stuff is pretty hard to pull off in NSMB in the first place)

Alright here are my findings:
Transformation time take ~50 seconds. (I need to know exactly when)
The hitbox is 1x6 unless it's a bit wider.
The normal jump hurtbox on top is missing/misplaced.

Powered up forms (excluding Mega and Star) will get only get hurt.
Fire and Shell will deal damage but it won't give the key. (Probably something with the death animation.)

Mario/Luigi really like to look up left for some reason... Maybe the hurtbox is up there?

Edit: Forgot to mention that if you're pressing down when in the Shell it'll knock you back.
Also the shell can quickly defeat it if you jump when it pushes you against a wall.

While I'm at too, all the levels in this hack will be much longer then before, so this picture is basically only a small fraction of the level. (Also custom background tiles)

Back on topic, I really like your SMB3 styled levels (as I've stated on your profile), but my only problem is that the time limit feels a little bit short... you know? Maybe it's just me, I play pretty slow anyways...

A friendly reminder to anyone else wanting to play is use an older version of NSMBe to patch as newer revisions don't work.

Also excellent job  Pedroalone, it really feels like the original Super Mario Bros. but at a better and faster pace.
It's like the fan game Super Mario 63; Done very well and puts a smile on your face.
