Yeah, I have edited those tilesets so it looks a little less confusing after I uploaded that video. And yes, the standard Bosses are better, but I would rather have original ideas than ones that get constantly recycled. The room in that video is really still just a test, I might add. Rooms like the one in the test will be boring. In the finished hack they'll be designed to take advantage of Mario's weaknesses to the type of enemy he is facing. For example, if the World 2 Castle Boss is made up of Pokeys, then Mario will have to find a way to get over them to find a Fire Flower. The inspiration has come from how the first big Boss were managed in Skelux's SM64 Star Road. It worked well there, and I think if I can do it right it can still work in NSMB. Nice, I like the cinematics.
If only you could get it to play, on the DS. Somebody did get an AVI and WAV file to play on the Mario Kart DS titlescreen. |
