I wanted to change World 1-2's Area 1 (which is underground) to be a grassland area. It worked perfectly fine the day before yesterday, but yesterday I lost my data, so today I am recreating my level, but for some reason the background won't change like it did before, even though the editor itself acknowledges the change.

What did I do wrong? And how do I fix it?

Yes. Any/all hacks are from here:

https://nsmbhd.net/thread/3477-asm-hacks-ready-for-importing-download/#49237

https://nsmbhd.net/thread/1685-rips-from-newer-nsmb-titles/?from=220#49223

I followed every step perfectly, and like I said before, it worked fine when I did the same thing 2 days ago, so I'm very confused as to why the background and graphics (ground tiles, etc.) aren't changing now.

then its probably caused by either the dedicated graphics per area code or dedicated graphics per view code, if you used either if those

I looked and found that I am, in fact, using both:

areareload.s (dedicated graphics per view code, if I'm not mistaken)

areatileset.s (dedicated graphics per area code)
