Yeah that happened to me a couple times before with other files man. I truly don't know what's the reason of that

Try editing it with Mario Kart DS Course Modifier, it's better for editing NSBTX's than NSMBe.

I already know how to edit world 8.nsbmd, is very easy and I will give you a tutorial, let's start

1. They will go to nsmbe and open their rom then go to rom file browser »root» map

2.Please download this file which is the one that you are going to replace with world 8.nsbmd, there it is

3.then they stop on the world 8.nsbmd file that is currently in nsmbe then without editing it in any way because if they do it it will not be replaced, if this step reopen nsmbe and repeat step 1, well they just press replace and replaceworld 8.nsbmd and you can edit it freely I have not finished editing but this is for you to
