Hello everyone,
When starting NSMB you see the Nintendo logo plus a text saying that all rights are reserved by NINTENDO. And when you see that, a coin collection sound will be played. Is it able to edit this sound without changing the coin collection sound of the game? (Don't want the game to say e.g. Luigtime at the boot screen and then every time I collect a coin) And where do I find these file(s)? Well, it's the same coin collection sound that is used for both the logo screen and the levels, so changing the sound will cause trouble. You would need to tell the game to play another sound during the logo screen, which can only be done by modifying the game's code, a.k.a. ASM Hacking.

One plays in the boot screen and one plays in levels. _________________________ Inferno Mario Bros. Website |

If that's true, do you know the location of those files?

Probably would be somewhere in the mgvs_sound_date files. If I am wrong, please correct me

The coin collection sound is a short sequence, stored in one of the SSARs, which are - as DaneGaming said - hardcoded. You'd usually just replace the SWAV file that is used when the sequence plays, but the coin sound isn't a SWAV file; it's a PSG/8-Bit Instrument. You would have to make the sequence link to another track from the linked SBNK file. But I don't think that's possible yet.
