You wouldn't want to modify the block and coin bitmaps. Those are animated and take alot of work to retexture.

To edit those you'd have to open all the jyotyu bitmaps and palettes, export everything, edit and reimport. Due to huge amount of stuff to edit though, it is pretty difficult. I tried myself and failed, due to either errors in ricbent's list, the editor's glitchy 4pbb support or an error on my end, but if you want to try it anyway, the palettes to edit are:
