There is a search function to make everything simple. It can be seen on the navigation tab to the right side of the webpage if you are on a desktop computer.

that could help you if you also want to change the world map textures How to edit world map textures!

It has helped me a lot and it is also relatively easy to understand after reading a bit. Just do not give up if it does not work the first time or it does not look good, because it's a bit trial and error. Good luck

if you mean a texture (a 2d sprite) yes, but if you mean 3d models you need other programs for example Blender and if you want to add things I recommend the tutorial of  skawo Adding files to the ROM

What Skawo did was add the boos inside of the "trees" 3d model. The boos are just 2D, but to add stuff requires 3d modeling. Editing the textures will only change the images on the faces of objects that are already there, for example making the grass look like stone or something.

I followed that tutorial before and was able to get it to work, what is the problem in step 6?

Huh. Do you mean the actual world map on the top screen where you move about and stuff? That'd be pretty cool.
I've also seen some people add in stuff, like boos, is that also possible through that?

Adding stuff is relatively complicated and I have not done it yet, but it's relatively easy to change or exchange things for example: I changed the flowers in the first world to a pipe (a 2D sprite of course) and after a while I could do that with other things as well, without looking at the tutorial again, but if you really want to add stuff, I recommend you: Try the tutorial from  skawo Adding files to the ROM

Now have fun and a good day.

I'm unable to set the width.
(Also, how do I insert an image?)

Also, when typing up a post you can add an image by clicking this button:
After that, type the image url between the brackets. Use the Uploader on this website then open the image from the uploader and copy the url.

Step 4:
Double-click on the file UI_O_1P_course_select_o_ud_ncl.bin to open the Palette Viewer.
Tick 16 Color on the bottom-left, and click Add all.

It seems like you skipped this step. Even with the image currently opened, follow step 4. After this step you should have palletes loaded and then you can change the width.

Hm... I can click add all and it will open the tile viewer and add the palletes, did you tick the 16 colors? Or, do you need to reinstall NSMBEditor?

We are currently talking about MeroMero's world map icons tutorial, not Skawo's add files tutorial
