hello, since I can no longer work on my second rom hack (newer halloween.special) for various reasons I decided to do a hack a little easier.
This hack will be released before 2018 because being a remake it is not much work. hope you like it.

SOME SCREENSHOT

sorry if there are only 3 screenshots but I have not made much progress with this hack

You might wanna get rid of some of the space between the letters in the world names tho.
Other than that, the new textures for the worldmaps look pretty nice.

Have a +1!

I guess your halloween special thread is ready for the the trash then.

Also it'd be nice if you had a bit more progress to show off before making a thread (2% is like 1 1/2 level).
Further I don't think that it is a that good idea if you work on more than one hack simultaniously. There is quite a big chance that one project get's canceled or you loose motivation on working on one of them.

(You could maybe combine your remaining 2 hacks? Your decision tho.)

Are those letters sprites or a BG layer?

In the latter case, reducing the space isn't going to be feasible without changing the graphics or something.

This. In my opinion, maybe uppercase letters would look better.

Also, mico, wish you the best for this hack! I know it'll look amazing.

I could not…

What about levels that are entirely based around powerups?
I know that ASM hacks has been part of nsmb hacks for a while now, but that is some next level shit

Remakes take generaly a lot less time and efforts to make than original content, so maybe it isn't that bad of an idea. And I'd honestly prefer a complete remake or a complete new thing than half of both. (especially the remake part: What's the point of a remake if you only remake half the game?)

If you want a product that's half as decent as the source material, you'll need more time and effort. NSMBU has a ton of things you'll need to port yourself to resemble anything close to it.
New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth (Coming Soon!)
Here's a little lesson in trickery, this is going down in history...

I intend to make levels with more details, but I would need a NSMBU rom to see the levels as they are made. where can I download it?

Well, uh, it's the only possibility other than dumpig the game yourself with DDD (or download it from some shady site).

And please stop quoting every post above yours. That's not really necessary.
If you read through threads and you have to read every post trice it is a bit annoying
And if you want to quote, only qoute the parts of the post you really want to reply on.

I wish you good look for this.
Porting NSMBU is really difficult, you know? Every level has it "originality" and that "originality" probably doesn't exist in NSMB DS. But I think you know how to make they similar.

Ah, and for the 'world names' I suggest to remove the mini-world map, since it's useless.

This is no longer maintained tho.

But in the near future Satoru will be released.
For now only NewerU team members have it tho.
