Very nice. Note for self: organise this further by putting this on the wiki somehow.
Also: there is that go-to-world map thing in the entrance hex that you could add. I think Dirbaio made a post/thread. |

First post updated with 2 tutorials from thereturnofdoritosxD:
_http://nsmbhd.net/thread/2585-useful-stuff-for-nsmb-hacking/ (the exception here as it is not a tutorial per say, but having a list of the likeliest softwares you'll need is equally useful IMO) _http://nsmbhd.net/thread/2382-how-to-import-and-export-xdelta-patches-tutorial/ Also added the worldmap editor from ray & Freeze ! |

Posted by KingYoshi http://nsmbhd.net/thread/157-hammer-brothers/#1446 Oh wait, that thread isn't about hacking stuff. Oops. That would fit in a infos/tips and tricks/something like that thread. Maybe I should try to regroup such infos then. Edit: Or simply list the threads/link the posts that has the infos. |

Added.
Just one thing though: Posted by Wesley
To calculate where the border line exactly is you can use the following formula, BG= 512-263= scrolling area width 512 indicated the full width of the image 263 is the width of the part of the image that isn't repeating. And that results into a width of 249 pixels at the right side of the scrolling side of the image. Dirbaio is right, values are 256 and 256, not 263 nor 249, you want to fix that as it can be misleading |

http://nsmbhd.net/post/38705/ I wasn't dirbaio's, and it is a bit of a mess, but oh well... Also, dirbaio sent this to me somewhere, I forgot where: https://dirbaio.net/d/paste/MExoLldg.txt |

Posted by Hiccup Here was the post: http://nsmbhd.net/post/38705/ I wasn't dirbaio's, and it is a bit of a mess, but oh well... Oh, that? Well, it's definitely something but I think it needs a little bit polishing before it can be added to the list. Baby Bowser will get the credits of course, but further research is recommended to see what can be done with it exactly, this has potential. Anyway, I dunno what I was thinking but, I wonder why I didn't add this tutorial from Garmichael to the list sooner. This is a tutorial about how to use NSMB editor in video format. In the same vein that Pride is the original sin where the 6 other sins stem from, NSMB editor is arguably THE reason NSMB DS hacking is a thing at all. As such, it gets to be first in the list despite not being the first in alphanumerical order. The reason is simple, if you can't use NSMB editor, don't even bother with the rest. As a quintessential tutorial, it is highlighted in red instead of the usual yellow. |

I don't think this qualify as a likely question though, there are only 2 reported cases as far as I'm aware, and both because of NSMB3.
It's more of an exception than the rule. Except for SKJmin, no one would even think about modifying the game code, making the answer almost pointless. Also, for a moral standpoint, wanting to change back the gamecode just so you can open the ROM in NSMBe can be viewed as cheating your way out. |

Solution to long known problem of some ncgs and ncls not opening:
LZ compress them! The editor can only open them if they are compressed *facepalm* |
