New Super Mario Bros. 2 Wiki
Update 1: Treeki's not releasing anything. Update 2: Roadrunner's making the same thing (basically) that Treeki made. |

Yeah, I guess NSMB2 is much more similar to NSMBW than to NSMBDS. Meh

I am interested, but I am not a programmer . I don't know in what I could help.
Good thing posts and threads are reported to NSMBHD's IRC Channel tough. There's good programmers on it. Edit: I was right. even Dirbaio see it. He ninja'd me. |

Well, the project is possible and it looks interesting...but the real problem is how are you supposed to test your levels and all the other stuff? There isn't any 3DS emulator or flashcarts that read 3DS ROMs downloaded from the internet.
P.S: And yes, I've searched for flashcarts that could read hacked 3DS games or emulators for the 3DS, but I couldn't find anything. |

You can actually repack the ROM with no encryption apparently. You need a gateway card to play the modified ROM though.
Here is 1-1. I wonder if there are any unused levels. |

If one day we'll be able to edit NSMB2, the problem will be the scarce dissemination it would have. Not many people have gateway cards for playing games or test hacks. And it's possible the game have CRC (I'm not sure if it's his name), like NSMBWii, where the entire game code must match with certain unswerving bytes.
However, I hope it will be possible to hack. Hopefully, there are people who is willing to help in 3DS hacking. |

I may be wrong, but the filesystem looks a lot like NSMBW's.
So it's possible to quirk Reggie! to fit with that filesystem. |

I counted 95 levels in the game. But I count 182 sarcs in the Course folder.

Awesome!
Like this, we'd probably be able to make a remake of NSMB2 for the people who have NSMBWii. But doing this is a waste of time, and let's not make Nintendo lose money. |

NSMBWii hacks on the go would be more interesting, though. _________________________ Kuribo64 - zrghij |

Of course. I was just pointing that it would apparently be possible.

Well, it'd be possible without any sort of editor, you can just map the stage out yourself, this just makes it a bit easier.

I honestly wouldn't care about having an editor for New Super Mario Bros. 2. I don't like hacking New Super Mario Bros. Wii, so I don't see why I'd like dealing with New Super Mario Bros. 2 either.

I did find a 3DS Emulator a while back, but I was unable to download it because my antivirus HATED it: http://3dsemulator.org Since then I haven't been able to even open the website, so there must be something bad on there. _________________________ This is a footer. |

I think it'd be cool, but I probably wouldn't ever hack NSMB2 due to keeping my 3DS on the latest firmware and those large download sizes for 3DS ROMs. I probably would have gone further with New Retro Mario Bros. 3 if I made it in NSMB2. New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth My two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. |
