hi there, just curious about how im supposed to test my levels? i've had not issues with emulating the rom containing my levels, but idk how to pick a level to test, instead of going in order of all levels. any resources or help would be great.

I don't get what's the issue. You edited 1-1? You test 1-1. You edited 5-A? You test 5-A. You edited 8-2? you test 8-2. You edited several levels? You test all the levels you edited. The order? Whatever the hell you want.

agh yeh i need to explain this better. right now my process is edit a bit of a level, and then test. this was fine for 1-1 since when i make a change, i reload the emulator and then play as per usual. but now that im on 1-2, i need to reload the emulator, finish 1-1 and then move to 1-2. i need some way i can just emulate any specific level and then test it like that. hope the problem and what i want to achieve makes more sense now

Try using a 100% save file

If you are using DESmuME, you can use "Save State" (in "Files"), when you finish level 1-1 click on it and you can easily resume from level 1-2 (with "Load State"). It works for all levels.

that's not really a good way though since all code changes you do won't be reflected in the save states, and it doesn't work if you choose to have the whole rom loaded at once. it's better to just use an "all levels unlocked" and "all worlds unlocked" cheat code. you can find some floating around online.
