Although it is possible to play custom levels on an emulator, the experience is much better on an actual DS. I was wondering if it was possible to play custom levels on a 3ds (11.3 Luma Custom firmware), if so how Do I do it?

All you need as a regular DS/i flashcart that's compatible with the 3DS. I don't know if 3DS CFWs will affect DS flashcart compatibility.

What Flashcard should i get? Most of the site to get them seem sketchy, and the ones on amazons seem to crappy.

R4i Gold 3DS RTS from r4ids.cn is the one you'll want to buy. It costs around 15 to 20 bucks and is compatible with R4 Wood firmware.

Seems like Luma3DS patches the TWL_FIRM to allow DSiWare games to be installed. I've heard it overrides the flashcard blacklist if you installed a TWL_FIRM that removes the blacklist.
Not sure on that one, but I heard something along those lines.

In my case, CFW helped me to launch my old, trusty TTDS with a custom stage 2 launcher cia.
Not sure about recent flashcarts. I stopped bothering as there is no general consesus which is the best (supposedly supercard dsTWO was the bestone, but some users here digress to that claim)

Could you also do it with the SD loader that loads ds games from the SD card?

Technically, albeit a terrible solution.

Just watch any YouTube video demonstrating SD Card loading to know what to expect.

Indeed, nds-bootstrap doesn't even launch New Super Mario Bros. DS.

No, IIRC it's just something you put on your SD card and not something you install on your 3DS

R4 firmware goes onto the micro SD in the R4. Also you don't actually need anything that says "3DS" on it, most R4s that worked on the DS work on the 3DS if you have homebrew.
