As I've been revisiting my hack project more seriously, something I've always had trouble dealing with was editing the menu icon and text information reliably. I've tried searching the forums but couldn't find an answer unless the keywords I used weren't correct. I found a tutorial on YouTube from a few years ago that changed the home menu text correctly but editing the icon alongside the text resulted in a missing icon & text. Wondering if there's a better tool out there or method someone on here might know.

Perfect! That's the tool I'm looking for. I'm having a problem replacing the banner.bin file for some reason. It keeps spitting back "Unhandled exception: Already editing file: banner.bin" after editing and saving with the NDS Banner Editor. Is there a certain way of editing banner.bin? Edit: It worked despite that error, thank you very much! _________________________

theres a even more easier way to do this
step 1 make a 32x32 pixel image step 2 go to ROM File Browser/banner.bin step 3 if ur image turns pink, then check the "View in 4pbb format" and it should have the regular nsmb icon then click "Import this bitmap and recreate pallete" and select ur file (make sure its a PNG file!) |
