So, uh I've decided to make my own version of this hack, with a planned release date sometime in the middle of 2017.
It will feature all tracks from MKDD, along with all new tracks based off of the Art style of MKDD, in that nature, it is similar to the concept of N64 Circuit.

Thanks to Ambiance69 for playing a huge part in sound design, the hack will feature complex insturment replacement,
and music hacks, to truly capture the feel of MKDD, and thank to Yoshi Master for providing me with good Midis.

And thanks to Dave, for allowing me to use his restored version of GCN Mario Circuit.

FAQ:

Q: Will the Battle tracks be replaced?
A: Yes.

Q: Will there be any texture hacked characters, or tracks?
A: No.

Q: What will you do with the retro course slots?
A: They'll be replaced with brand new tracks based off the art style of MKDD.

Q: Will there be any new, or ported Karts?
A: Yes, both actually.

Q: How about characters?
A: Koopa Troopa will replace Dry Bones, and King Boo will replace R.O.B.

Q: How about ASM hacks?
A: Well, I can't ASM Hack at the moment, I might learn how to, though.

This hack looks very promising! I'm impressed, and I'm definitely going to play it. I have a few questions, though.

1.Are you keeping the Double Dash tracks that are already in the game? If so, will you fix Baby Park? (I'm saying this because the Baby Park port isn't that good, mostly because that there's only 5 laps, and that it's too boring)

2. Do you need a logo? I can make one.

3. Is this a hack of the American, European or Japanese ROM?

One last thing, you might wanna fix the images. They're pretty big.

Yeah, I'll I'm planning on keeping the MKDD tracks that are already in the game, some might see a few modifications, and others might not.
There's nothing I can do to increase the Lap Count Baby Park, since in the game's programming 5 is the maximum amount,
7 Laps can be added through ASM Hacking if course, but I don't know ASM myself, and there's nobody that knows ASM that would help me out. My only hope for any kind of ASM is to learn it myself, which I plan on trying, but I can't make any promises about that.

As for the logo, there have been a few versions at this point, but we'll choose eventually,
the more it looks like the MKDD Logo, means that it has a higher chance of getting chosen, so feel free to take a shot.
Another option is always nice.

It's of the European ROM, but that's simply due to the fact it's the version of the game that get's ASM Hacked the most,
GCGP does have 1 ASM Hack, but all it does is change the character's position on the Menu, and Ermii allowed me to use it,
so I didn't make it.

Yeah, I'll probably resize the images, give me some time, I've been sort of busy as of late.

As an extra note, GCGP hasn't just been developed by me, it's been developed by multiple people,
with me has the direct, and general designer, if you want to talk about the people making the ROM Hack,
just call us GCGPTeam.

It looks pretty decent, I must admit.
Although, it could use some more, I would try to put the "DS" right beside "MARIO KART".
and perhaps the "GAMECUBE GRAND PRIX" part could use a lot more work, not to sound picky, of course.
I would suggest arranging the text like so:
"MARIO KART DS" with "GAMECUBE GRAND PRIX" on the bottom.

But thanks for they try at making a logo!

For the "Gamecube Grand Prix" text, it could be written with the "Revue" font, rather than drawing the letters by hand. The logo would look better then.

For moving tables in Daisy Cruiser, you can use the Bowser Castle's moving platforms, and for the stuff around the pool before the stairs, you can use the tree objects.

Just some suggestion.

I'm ripping the models from MKDD/MK7, and simplifying them to work flawlessly on real DS hardware.
All of the tracks that I've ported so far work perfectly on a real DS, and I only have 3 courses left to simplify, and import.

Oh, nice. Does MKDS happen to have the track objects in MKDD? I know you most likely can't make that moving dinosaur but that doesn't really need to act the same.

No, MKDS doesn't have all of the objects MKDD had, but it has a few of them such a Goombas, Fire Bars/Rings, Chain Chomps, ect, but there are some objects that act similarly to the MKDD objects, that I can hack to look like said objects.
