No. That is not how it works. Using the spoilers how you do it makes no sense.

I guess since I don't want to bump a 4 year old thread I'll just post this here.
I'm using method 2 of this: https://nsmbhd.net/thread/1283-how-to-get-mvsl-hacks-to-work-multicart-and-download-play-tutorial/ It does not work with Pack New Levels, Co-Op bros, or even Ermii Kart. It does, however work with the original NSMB ROM. I do not know what I am doing wrong but here is a picture of what happened.  (I am using firmwarefix.nds because firmware.nds does not work) |

You no longer need firmwarefix.nds, in the patch template there is an ASM hack (Overlaysighack I do believe) that allows you to do modded MvL without the .nds file. Though I do *highly* recommend (If you have spare cash) to just buy a second r4 card

Ehh, I don’t really want to make that. The only real use it would have would be like a showcase type rom, and also idk if 5 lvls could have enough rom set differences to even TRY to make it.

I need to post my own MvL breakthroughs...
Anyway, I did some testing, and found out that almost all bosses work in MvL! The only one that doesn't is the final boss. Something about the boss controller makes the game freeze (Out of RAM maybe?), but if we use a P-Switch, we can activate the boss! _________________________ Here's my MvL Hacking thread Consider joining the NSMB DS Hacking Discord Server! What happens when you place NO MvL stars? Or place a MvL Star in the regular game? Will it just crash the game?

If there are *no* big stars, with the ASM there just won't be any big stars. Big Stars don't load in singleplayer.
