Quite a nice background, nicely ported to DS. But your screenshot is a bit distorted (it's shorter (or wider) than it should be), so I had to look from an angle relative to the screen to get a better view of it.
Y'know, it looks as if it were squished by a Thwomp! What emu do you use for the screenshots? I use DeSmuME and have no problems with my screenshots.

Hey, so, yesterday I ripped and ported a couple of tilesets and I'd like to post them here, no credit needed for these

NSMBU - Desert Underground

DOWNLOAD HERE uses 2 palettes.


SUPER MARIO MAKER 2 - Airship (NSMBU)
I mixed some decorations from SMM2 and SMM3DS for this, since some decorations look terrible when downscaled to the DS resolution

DOWNLOAD HERE uses 4 palettes.



NSMBU - Ghost house (Extended)

DOWNLOAD HERE uses 4 palettes.

Note: This tileset isn't completely accurate to how it looks in NSMBU but still works, also, since the tileset is extended you won't be able to use SubNohara in conjuction with this tileset, however, there's a way to bypass this, just extend a tileset that will be used in another area but don't add anything on the extended space, this way you'll basically be "restoring" the SubNohara in the other area.

Nice and they don't look off on DS! One nitpick though: If you're showcasing a custom something (tileset in this case), make sure everything else (HUD, models, sprites, actors) is vanilla. I've read that on SMWC once.

Some more ports, this time I'll be posting all the tower tilesets from NSMBU. The tilesets are extended to 256x176, which means that, in order to use these tilesets to their fullest potential, you will need the SubNohara V2 code hack, you also won't be able to use SubNohara in conjunction with these tilesets. Credits to Random Talkin Bush for the rips

Idk what everyone else here thinks but at this point since Nintendo has started creating other 2d Mario games under different titles, should we keep including them here or somewhere else? I’ve been seeing some Wonder tilesets and backgrounds popping up now, and I’m sure there will be plenty to come…
That being said this thread is super long already so I don’t think a new thread for Wonder rips would be unreasonable…

Well, obviously they should have their own separate threads, the main purpose of this one is to provide graphic ports from the NSMB series, hence why the name "Rips from newer NSMB titles"

The thing is, there weren’t individual threads for rips from each New NSMB game that came out, they were all grouped together
And Wonder is honestly not too far removed from NSMB in terms of style imo, other than the really weird art-style for Mario and the Ememies and such.
Wondering how far off you guys think Wonder is from NSMB and whether or not it deserves a separate thread. I mean the Mario Maker rips ended up here anyways right? It’s up to the majority of people tho before we go ahead and make a new thread for Wonder I think

Yeah, I don't dig SMBW's artstyle either. I like the NSMB series's and SMW's more.

But ontopic, I think the only reason this thread was devoted to newer NSMB games was because before Wonder, all there was, was NSMB series ('cept SM3DW style in the SMM games). But I think that if you replace SMBW Mario with NSMBW Mario (incl. animations), it wouldn't look that off. So even though it isn't a New Soup game, the tilesets could work for NSMBDS.
