Thank you everyone, i updated the patch to version 0.0.6, you can see it at the first and at the last update. That version includes Thierry's updated sound data. So don't forget to download it! Oh i would really apreaciate it to receive some constructive criticism about the game here on this thread.

My current progress right now is that i am working on  Lunarius's request and
I am having some other great progress at UVW mapping the Rosalina low poly model.
She is beginning to get a nice shape.

That's all for now.

Just wait to see the tileset that goes with this BG, you won't be disappointed.

What is supposed to mean the yellow W square on the Bottom BG ?

Also:

See how the colors are too similar between both backgrounds ?
You should make the Bottom BG a little darker so that the contrast sticks out better

It's a reference to 's name, but I didn't except him to post the BGs so this kinda ruins the Easter Egg.

Oh completely forgot about this!

Look how Nintendo designed their backgrounds and you will notice that when the top and bottom BGs have some elements in common, those of the Top BG are bigger, as to simulate depth perception.

So when I look at that image where the 2 backgrounds are merged, it almost looks like they are on the same layer, which doesn't feel right to me.

The fix:
Either make the Bottom BG squares smaller or make the Top BG squares bigger.

I get your point about those backgrounds.
It wasn't the final version though but just a another concept of what can be done better! Thanks for sharing your suggestions.

Here's the new concept of both BG's merged, what do you think?

I'll keep my POV in check until I see the tileset that goes with the BGs, only then will I be able to see the picture as whole and give my unbiased opinion on what I like and what I don't.

Interesting. But this 'slightly open world' thing sounds suspiciously like MarioFanatic64's new hack.

Also, you might want to shrink and rotate that airship a bit (if possbile), because it looks like the player/red flying ? blocks would go through it.

The NSHB semi-open world gameplay was developed since August 2014 when i was creating the power star model and the star coin selection screen mechanics.

About the airship, i've made the airship that huge because when it was scaled smaller the textures where rendered pixelated when loading on the worldmap, and that looks bad. If i am able to change the world map camera height i would definitely change that.

I was sure someone would say something like that.

Well infact, beside the fact it's not really that much of a open world, and Wesley had the star-replacing-star-coin idea before  MarioFanatic64 did. Just because someone don't make his hack as fast as the other, doesn't mean he is copying the other's hack to steal it's celebrity.

And note Wesley actually made custom models and imported them into the game [ex. the power star that is fully custom]. Learning how to do that properly and correctly in a way it works on both emulators and DS flashcards takes time.

Also, if he learnt that fast to do it, it's because we worked as a team, solving problems and getting it done faster.

EDIT: Ninja'd

I wasn't criticising him , just pointing it out. You can't copyright video game mechanics anyway (not that this is really a matter of copyright).

I like it
I suppose you tick "Behind fence" for the power star in the first picture. Might look better but try out what looks best for you.

Hmmm… for me it makes more sense to leave the Power Star in front of the Pendulum.

I mean Mario, as well as the enemies who stand on the support, do appear in front of the rod, not behind so it would be weird to have the Power Star behind the Pendulum but that's just me.

Star Realm Power Star

That's a nice 3D model. Are you using those as a replacement for Star Coins? So far I've only been able to make a 2D model...

Thank you,

Yes the star model is a replacement for the Star coins, but after world 2 those will fulfill its real purpose.
Which is in relation to the gameplay concept of Mario 64 and of course Mario Galaxy.

Right below there is a GIF which shows the full animation of the power star.

Monthly update: 12-4-2015

So what is up at the month of April?
At the month of April i've made up quite a lot of progress related to designing new models and epic level design.

M VS L strategic castle level.
A whole new experience on battling for the stars.

So At first i have this new design for the M VS L Castle level which replaces the previous airship level.
As you can see this design has some strategic points over the map which can be used to take or take away the advantage for you and your opponent. For a example the two bricks at the centre of the map is a point that is able to allow you and your opponent to cross the gap and to catch the star easily. But, if one of you both blow up a brick at the middle by using a bob-omb. The player at the other side will be discouraged to jump over the gap because you will be forced to wall jump to reach the other side which is indeed a risky action if the other player is nearby because, he can just insta kill you by jumping on your head in mid air when you are trying to reach the other side.

Starfish Resort

As second i've been working on several models such as this new tower model that is known as Starfish Resort which takes place at the star realm.
You can click on the image to enlarge it.

Spiral Chocolate tower

This model is the floating spiral chocolate tower at world 2. The floating ground part is made of crystalic material that strangely grows out of the chocolate ground. However the crystals seem to be appearing furthermore how close you go to that strange portal which lays at the heart of the place.

That's all i've got for now.

"Exept the design which is still on progress and coming up for next month, but shh you didn't read this."
