You have to open the Visual Studio file and then press debug.

Should be less hard:
Posted by Dirbaio
1) Download and Install TortoiseSVN > Download it and install, then reboot
2) Download and Install Microsoft Visual Studio > Then, download and install this, reboot again
3) Make a new folder (wherever you want) > No explanation necessary
4) Right-click the new folder and click: SVN checkout > This one either, assuming you installed Tortoise correctly
5) At URL of repository type: http://nsmb-editor.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ > This goes in the popup box from Tortoise that popped up
6) Click ok and wait for it to finish > Yay! The [down]Loading Game!
7) Open: NSMBe4.sln (double click it and micorsoft visual studio will open it) > It will be in the folder that you just performed the last few steps in
8) Click build --> build solution (in the toolbar) > In the toolbar, as it says
9) Wait for it to finish > The game again!
10) Your NSMB Editor is ready for use! You can find it in:
"Your folder"\NSMBe4\bin\Debug\NSMBe5.exe > When I did it, it came out as NSMBe5.exe.debug, as well as a .dll.debug file. Remove the .debug from the end and throw them in their own folder
11) Make a nice hack! > This is the whole point

Just to ask; how would you compile this on Linux?

Honestly, I don't know. I use Windows and Visual Studio.

The way to do it is probably using MonoDevelop. I gave it a try a LONG time ago. It almost worked, but it compained about some resource stuff.

Try it out, i'd like to know whether it works with the newer MonoDevelop and NSMBe revisions.

A little late but whatever...

MonoDevelop can successfully compile NSMBe on Linux.

Maybe I'll switch to developing in linux. I'll take a look at MonoDevelop again, at least

Thanks.

Yes The editor does compile in Mono-Develop.. Just with 47 warnings.

I prefer Linux to Windows and am now wondering why I downloaded ~100MB for something that runs in windows when there is something in Linux that does the same thing in ~30MB

Yeah
Windows stuff, especially from Microsoft, tends to be reeeally bloated.
(Even Paint in Win7 is bloated. Microsoft, why did you change it? It was soo easy and simple to use before!)

I HATE the new version of Paint. I soooo prefer the old one.
I think that the only things from Microsoft that was good is DOS and Win3.1

BTW: are you going to use Mono-Develop?
