Hi guys! In these days I was working on this hack and I wanted to post here. This hack is a 'remake' of New Super Mario Bros.Wii, but, obviously, it's impossible to remake every single thing so I'm doing what i can. Also my dream is to put a working propeller mushroom into my hack and it's not too impossible because there's already a good example of propeller mario physics. Now i have completed only few levels. Also, i changed a lot of graphics and other things.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's a good idea to overwrite Nintendo's copyright text with your own credit in the top-left screenshot. Good luck on the hack tho

I tried to put also 'Nintendo 2006' but the space is limited (also, i have to redo that line because is orrible). I don't know if i'll use the 256 colours ASM Hack that allows to use all the space avaiable (and all the colours) but at the moment i'm noob with ASM Hacks (i can only do directly patches). Also, thanks for the encouragement ?!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, tbh. Everyone knows it's copyrighted by Nintendo. And if not, the screen before the title screen already shows the Nintendo logo.

The idea is nice, but yea, NSMBWii's sprites are very different. For example, the first level already has this moving rotating ground that's not supported by NSMBDS. So it seems hard to remake this game for DS.

No problem! I'm always on the lookout for new hacks to be excited for.
On the hack itself, I suppose there isn't much to say yet, as all we have are a handful of screenshots to go off of so far. The custom propeller idea seems really intriguing to me and I'm interested how you'll implement it. It seems to me you'll probably need a whole load of ASM haxxing.
I think I prefer the first logo.

Good luck on the track controlled mushroom thingys in 1-5. You could use the asm hack in Newer DS for those shapes they did in 6-C. Good luck, I'm excited!

It's a good idea, but now i'm only working on levels that i can do without problems, but this doesn't mean i wont do that! I have to learn how ASM Hacks work and other things, so stay tuned!

Edit:
I have done 1-3 today! There's also the underground area (i had to use the grassland tileset) but not the secret exit. I don't know if Goombatlas can fix this problem. Also, i changed the tower and the castle models, using the Wii Tower and the NSMB2 ones!

Today i have finished level 1-6 (will replace 1-A). I wont post any screenshot of it because there are too many of them on the main post. The level is good but i think is a bit boring without the rotating hills. Now i'll work on 1-4!

I think the rotating hills level should go on 1-4, and the river level be on 1-A, and the mushroom level be 1-5. Not in order like on the wii, I know. But I think it'd be better to do that so it would make sense with the world map on the DS. You could also model a replica world 1 like how it is in Sarasaland Advance!.

You could also model a replica world 1 like how it is in Sarasaland Advance!

That's what i wanted to do! When i'll finish world 1 i'll model the map with goombatlas. If i can't, i can always put 1-6 in 1-4.

EDIT: Thanks to Mario TV for the logo improvement! Also, i changed the bottom screen. I hope everyone like it!

This is off-topic but i want to say that yesterday i bought a Nintendo DS (first model) for only €3! It's working but i had to repair the spot 1 (i have putted and ejected a cardtrige for 1 minute and it worked ?).

Your logo reads like "New Super DS Mario Bros.Wii" which is the funniest mouthful ever

Good luck on remaking the Wii levels on a DS though. Though ambitious, some ASM magic could port features from the later games to the DS, I'm sure.

It's the best way they probably fit it. It's kinda like how the logo for SM64DS looks like "Super 64 Mario DS"

I have putted some asm hacks into my game ?! Over the ones that were before into this rom (Next DS) i added a completely nex bootscreen and new level previews (maybe TheGamerator will improve them, idk).
