I'm trying to add custom music to NSMBDS and I used this amazing guide (https://nsmbhd.net/thread/475-tutorial-nsmb-sound-and-music-hacking-guide/) but when I try to run this command in the command prompt: i am proud to be your gay cousin |

You can download those two .dll files (you can find them by typing those .dll file names to Google), and place them in the same directory where midi2sseq.exe file is.

Thanks, this helped very much and even would've fixed the problem if there wasn't a new obstacle in my path. Now there's a message in the command prompt saying saying "Error: Invalid MIDI file!" I tried doing the instructions all over again, and got the same thing. Is there even a way to solve this? (For the record, i'm using a .mid for Train Rush from A Hat in Time that uses 2 channels out of the channels used in the athletic theme, none added, none removed, the unused ones are just blank. It was also this way the second time.) _________________________ i am proud to be your gay cousin |

Open the midi file in Cakewalk Home Studio and remove the very first track, which should be empty, and then save it.

Redid the entire instructions, used Anvil to remove the first track, exported as MIDI-Format 0, and it STILL isn't a valid MIDI. I think I should just quit trying and move on with the hack at this point.

Simply use Nitro Studio by Gota7, it is an awesome DS music editor.
It has built in Midi2Sseq so you can just export and then import. To edit the MIDI you can use Anvil Studio _________________________ NSMB Hacking Discord |

Posted by poudink yeah someone needs to do a new music tutorial. maybe I'll do it. There's this newer tutorial: https://nsmbhd.net/thread/4507-updated-music-hacking-guide-for-new-super-mario-bros/ Also Gota7 and I have been working on a guide, but since we're both busy with other stuff as well and Nitro Studio will get some updates first, we haven't been able to finish it yet. |
