I think that Nsmbe should be on IOS because, it would offer a way to edit levels on the go...and it would also be impressive!

No. A level editor has to be stripped down a ton in features to make it touchscreen friendly. And the userbase it would reach would just be way too small to make that project be worth doing. Not mentioning that Apple would refuse such app on the appstore.

There's no way this could be possible.

Think of it this way:
How would some NSMBe mechanics work on IOS? That's something to put into consideration.

Sorry for bump, just I just wanted to say this:

They could put it on Cydia. Even though it wont be as accessable, a good portion of users do jailbreak their iPhone.

yeah but that would reduce the availability even more.
Making such a project even less worth the time one would have to put into it

why would you even want to edit NSMB levels on an iPhone

do yourself a favor and use an actual computer for that, not a consumer toy

iOS is pretty much the worst possible platform you could ask for NSMBe on, lol. No programmer talented enough to actually make this a reality would waste their efforts on such a project. Plus, iOS is very limited in its tileset creation possibilities, as well as being impossible to compile ASM on. I don't even know if there are any iOS DS emulators which have savestates, I remember NDS4iOS was pretty barebones (might've changed though, that was back in the ios 6 days).

Of course, if you (or someone passionate enough) actually made one, I for one would be pleasantly surprised.

True. I was just listing a way it could be out there without apple's bullshit.

Maybe make levels on the go?

Other than those things I mentioned, I completely agree with all of what you and cros said.

the blocks are too small to precisely place shit with a touchscreen

unless you zoom it in enough that you're only showing like 3x2 blocks on the tiny screen

Or you could make it like SMM, not *that* different. But then again, this is NSMB so...

The only people that use iOS are apple fanboys and people that dont know any better

And me, because of my dumb parents that dont want me getting an android

I think 99% of people know android is better unless you are explicitly looking at smaller sized phones, in which the iPhone SE is the only good choice for the size and maybe a couple of slightly bigger android phones

Also nobody does romhacking/modding on mobile. PC/Linux should be the only supported platforms, mac shouldnt be although it would be easy to do (because it's fully posix compliant) it's too expensive to be used as either a windows or linux/BSD replacement

That is entirely false. I had both Android and iOS devices.

In the end the design and user experience of Android is just subpar compared with iOS in my opinion especially when you got a jailbreak. I couldn't be happier with my iPhone and would never give it away for an Android device.

And no, I am not an Apple fanboy. I am just honest with myself and use the device I like the most.

I also see no reason why macOS users should be excluded from anything. There are good reasons to use it even if the hardware is totally overpriced. A hackintosh system is a great solution if you like the user experience of macOS and don't want to pay for overpriced hardware for example.

And NSMBe on mobile with SMM controls would still suck unless you use a stylus.

Well true, ios is easier to use than android but tbh jailbreaking isnt what it was, alot of jailbreak stuff is years old now lol

i mean sure theres electra for ios11 but its less stable than old JBs

as for hackintoshes I heard they were slow, but i might be wrong. however it's far easier to get freeBSD, which is basically what macos is based on and still compile stuff made for mac cli/linux i suppose

ah fuck this i'm being stupid again and not voicing my real thoughts

There is enough jailbreaking stuff. And with the iOS 10 jb I use I never had a single problem.

Hackintoshes are not any slower than other system or macs with similar hardware and for the audience macOS targets BSD is totally unusable.

Back to topic now tho.

Oh. I never tried an iOS 10 JB, but seeing as it still allows 32bit apps to work it would probably be okay...

And tbh this should have been closed from the start :p

I like using my android device cause Google gives more freedom in the hardware realm. For example, I don't see an iOS phone with a physical keyboard, but here I have my blackberry priv (running android) having one.

Why so? There's no point in removing a thread that has a purpose

I use SMM3DS without a stylus and its still a great experience for me.

then you don't need NSMBe on mobile? if you're going to make a real hack you might as well just use a laptop if you really need to make a level on the go. plus NSMBe is not the only tool around anymore, it's not as practical.

IMO that wasn't worth a bump.
of course there's usermade alternatives to upload apps, but it doesn't warrant restarting this debate that goes absolutely nowhere.

I say no need to go close the thread, there's nothing outright wrong going on here.

I thought NSMBe was the only NSMB editor? Didn't know there were others
