Will there be an ability to edit our profile comments?
In case if we make a mistake or a spelling error, or we want to change our opinions.

>will there be

doubt it.
the board software hasn't been worked on in ages, so I'm not sure about how to get dirbaio to push small changes like this.

I remember blargboard allowed one to delete thier own comment, but it also allowed them to post insults and remove it once read. so it had to be disabled.

Removing profile comments is possible. It is not enabled for non staff members tho to prevent drama mentioned by Thierry.

If you have anything to add just do a new comment.

I'm in favor of completely axing profile comments anyway

* the main uses are a) conversations that could go in PMs and b) posting stupid shit (and c) for certain people to post copypasted welcome messages to every new user)
* conversations are spread over two profiles or more, making it a pain to follow old conversations
* the system is much easier to abuse than the proper discussion systems already in place (threads, PMs) while having less features

the only advantage is that it's quick to use

you said you were fine with it ;-;
I'm not really against profile comments, but I can see why you guys want them gone. But there are good uses for it, such as birthday wishes and quick questions.

Profile comments are also useful when someone has his/her PM function blocked by admins, and want to tell the admins to unblock that.

I don't feel like missing one more thing after the main page is gone, but I can't deny comments aren't much of use.

Then again, you can't just have every single member on Skype, and a whole bunch of PMs for every single conversations sounds unconvenient.

it's kind of silly when the user turns out to be a lurker or a russian kitchen spammer. I'd atleast wait until they post something.

indeed. Skype is crapo. so is Discord.

PM threads solve the 'bunch of PMs for every single convo' bit, by keeping them together in a nice thread.

The 'Disable post layout' tickbox won't stay ticked when previewing while editing posts.

Also  Dirbaio, would you mind to enable uploader item deletion/move again? I'm itching to clean up my good ol' cringe and I uploaded something twice.

Reenabling the tickboxes with inspect element won't allow deleting anyways.

Maybe he got a post deleted before that and something from the old days messed up.

Not sure if this is already a feature as I looked through the website and can’t find it. Could there be some feature added where we can see why our karma is where it is? At the moment, My karma is in the negatives and I don’t know why. Say for example, you go onto your User thing and you see this:

Deleted Post: -15
New Post: +1
User Vote: +5

It wouldn’t show who did it, just what happened so you know.

I get your wish and your arguments, but the thing is that people shouldn't be so focussed on their karmas. I guess it's fair to ask why your karma was lowered if you intend to be your best as you can, but showing this kind of information would likely result into some "popular high school" atmosphere with stuff like separated groups and hate (or something like that).

EDIT: Oh, I didn't notice people wouldn't see who lowered/highered your karma. Anyway, I'm still not sure this would be a good idea.

That’s fair. I just thought it would be nice to not be so curious. But, curiosity did kill the cat, so...

you mean something like this?

Posts/treads: +1059
+1s count: 40
Deleted posts/threads: -75
User votes: +30

"deleted posts/threads" covers both trashing and deletion of threads.
