Before I lose it or something, here's a patch that unlocks the SAVE menu from the start.

Applies to overlay9_8; decompress it.

Just search for the values on the left and change them to what's on the right. I would just give you the addresses, but, uh,
lazy there's some reasons.

Not sure if this applies to this section, but I don't see anything that'd it fit better into.

Excuse me, I don't know how I could search and replace those codes. I would be very appreciated if you could tell me some instruction. Thank you in advance.

Get a hex editor, open the rom with it, use the find function and tell it to look for hexadecimals.

I need to decompress the overlay file in order to be able to find those codes right? Since I couldn't find original hex strings in my ROM. But I don't know how to decompress them either.

Decompress an overlay with an old version of NSMBe (like b342) since the newer ones can't decompress overlays for some reason. The overlay's names will show differently, but they're pretty much the same.

The only problem is, I have no idea what overlay to decompress. Skawo should know, since I'm expected he tested this before posting a thread about it..

The Overlay that has to be decompressed is Overlay 9_8

Next time, just change the number in the URL to whatever build you're looking for.

Also, why did you post that here, of all places? You could have done so in the general question thread, or made a new thread in site features.

Half of the thread is about decompressing overlays using some old NSMBe revision.

Technically, he's not offtopic. And making a whole thread about it would've been pretty useless IMO.

But he doesn't need b342, MeroMero's modified NSMBe b380 has the decompress overlay button fixed, plus you get alot more features and you don't have to switch versions back and forth because b342 doesn't have some important feature or bugfix that you need etc.
