I'm sorry everyone for not saying anything about the hack but i was extremely busy.
To answer everyone's question: Yes this hack will be finished, i just didn't have time to work on it.
However, I have some news. I will be doing some clean up in the hack which means i will be going through every file and import the ones i want into a new rom. I will start using a U rom since it's more commonly used and there's only one language file for the menus. This will also allow me to hopefully release a beta before summer is over but don't get too excited as something could happen (You never know). Anyways the process shouldn't take that long but i will also be remaking some levels.

So in case anyone is still wondering about this hack, the thing I said 2 years (quoted above) never actually happened since I ended up being even busier than I thought. I have some time now so I will be going back to it. I have been playing it and I realized a lot of it needs to be redone like things that don't exactly make sense (graphics mainly). So, I'm basically going to "start from scratch" and by that I mean I'm going to start editing a clean rom and if I can reuse something then I will use it (there will be a lot of things not just one or two). To keep you guys updated here's the title screen I worked on:


I think this title screen looks better and cleaner than the one I had before (You can see it on the main post under videos since the images don't work anymore) but let me know what you guys think.

Good luck! I'd never heard of this hack but it looks REALLY cool, it has a really nice style. Although I'm not exactly a great level designer myself, just looking at 1-1, I don't think blue koopas should be a regular enemy, and I think it should be possible to get a 1-up on the flagpole. Also, are you going to make use of  skawo's shy guy ASM hack ? Anyway, good luck, this looks like it'll be a really good hack.

Yeah I'm going to end up changing that level since I think it's not really good anymore. Now that you mention the shy guy I decided to play with it and I got it to work so I don't know I might include it since Yoshi's Island has shy guys. It would be pretty cool if I could have more than one color by either having it load a different model (from rest of the unused files in the polygon_unit folder) depending on the sprite data or by adding multiple textures to the model it is already using, but since I don't know ASM hacking and I'm pretty new at working with 3D models then it's probably not going to happen.
